Jaydyn got home and her mom was sitting on the couch. She said, "Do all of your chores, then we will talk."
Jaydyn was thinking, "Well shit." But of course, she didn't have a choice. So she did her chores, and afterward, she stood in front of her mom, shaking scared.
"Why is your charger still plugged in?" She said.
"Um, I, just, I didn't know I had to unplug it," Jaydyn said worryingly.
"You didn't know!? What are you paying the bills?! Why would you leave the charger in the plug, if there's nothing charging on it!?"
Jaydyn couldn't respond.
"Hands." Her mom picked up a wooden backscratcher.
Jaydyn held her hands out, palms up, and smacked them really hard, three times.
Jaydyn cried, and cried while squeezing her hands together.
"And you are NOT going to that dance." Her mom dropped the stick on the table and continued to watch her TV.
"Yes, ma'am," Jaydyn sniffled and went to take a shower.
-_Day of the dance_-
She couldn't go. There was even a skate night at Imagine Wheels after the dance. Couldn't go there.
Come Monday, though... Jaydyn is in for a bumpy ride.
