Their bellhop Jamie rang the doorbell as Amy and Matty were getting ready to leave.
“Hello.” Jamie said in a cheerful voice as Joey opened the door.
“Hello.” Amy replied, peeking over her brother to smile at the bellhop.
“Hi.” Jamie repeated, looking into the room to meet Amy’s eyes.
“I’m Amy,” Amy said walking past her brother and to the door, hand outstretched, “She, her, hers.”
“Oh,” Jamie’s smile switched from customer service certified to pleasantly surprised. She looked at Amy’s hand for a second before taking it. “Jamie, they, them, theirs.”
“Matt,” Matty said walking to the door, grin matching his sisters and Jamie’s, “He, him, his.” He held out his hand and Jamie shook it as well.
“Um,” Joey felt awkward for not even having thought to introduce himself when Jamie had walked in earlier, being in the penthouse had sure made his ego fly high quickly. “I’m Joey, he, him, his.” He waved at Jamie.
Jamie smiled and waved back.
“Oh, and, um,” Mikael said, stepping forward. “I’m Mikael, Mike for short. Most people call me Mikey, or Mike. Aside from this guy,” He nodded towards Joey. “He calls me Mikael. But you can call me Mikey, or Mike, whichever you prefer. Um, my full name is actually Mikael Angelo, my parents thought it was funny. I didn’t mind it though, I liked it growing up because of the teenage mutant ninja turtles, it was my favorite show growing up and-”
“Alright babe," Joey said, patting Mikael on the back. "Jamie doesn’t need our whole life story.”
“Right.” Mikael nodded. “Um. His. He… uh, and him.”
Jamie was beaming. “Nice to officially meet you.” They looked over at Amy and Matty, “Um, will the two of you be staying as well?”
“We wish.” Amy pouted.
“Don’t have that kinda money.” Matt said, pulling out his empty pockets for emphasis.
“But, that’s our bro.” Amy nodded towards Joey, “So, you’ll be seeing us around.” She said with a wink.
“Cool.” Jamie said.
Amy grinned.
“Right, um,” Jamie said, clearing their throat and looking back at the guests. “A complimentary service we offer is pillow selection and pillow fluffing, it was on your list of requests for tonight.” They pulled their cart in from the hallway, it was overflowing with pillows and pillowcases.
Matty whistled. “Can I sleep over?”
“I should get a government job.” Amy said.
Jamie’s brows furrowed so Amy explained, “Their job is bankrolling their stay.”
“Ah.” Jamie nodded. Wow. But… then why was Mikael Angelo’s name on every receipt? They decided it would be best not to ask.
