“Push honey, Push!”
“Ahhhhhhh!”
Melody was in serious pain. She was trying to give birth, but god, she wondered why. She felt like she was going to pop. Thank god her husband was there for her. Otherwise, she might have given up on having the baby.
“You can do it! I love you.”
“SHUT UP OSCAR! IM IN PAIN,” Melody shrieked. Then all of a sudden, she felt her body lighten.
“It’s a boy! It’s a boy!” Oscar exclaimed happily. Then he placed the baby into Melody's arms.
“What shall we name him? I’m thinking Oscar jr. But of cour-“
“His name is Lennon,” Melody said in a matter of fact way. Oscar could see there was no way to budge her, so he didn’t even try. After all, it was a cute name. And Melody wanted their son to be named that, he loved her too much to disagree.
“Where’s my grand baby? Let me see him, NOW!” A lady burst into the room, not even out of breath although she had sprinted.
“Ma,” Oscar began, “the baby is sleeping be more quiet.”
“Hello Elle, would you like to hold her?” Melody inquired.
“See here son, your wife knows how to respect elders,” Elle responded.
“Lee, get in here to see your grandson!” Elle screeched.
“Ma, how did you know it was a grandson, you haven’t seen him yet. He is too bundled up on Melody.” Oscar inquired.
“Well son, I could hear you hollering from down the hall.”
“Oh,” was all Oscar could say.
“Lee Jamie Demise, you get in here before I drag you in myself!” Elle burst out.
“I’m coming, I’m coming.”
Slowly the door opened, and a hand reached in.
“IM HERE!” Lee exclaimed
“Nice try, but it didn’t work dad,” Oscar sighed.
Elle just stared at her husband with disgust. He was 4,000 years old, and still behaved like a child.
“Shouldn’t a king be more regal?” Melody asked.
“But I’m not a king here, just your dad-in-law.” Lee replied.
“Besides, your son will be the next king. I’ve already decreed it.”
“That will be an honor. I hope Lennon finds his mate in time for that.” Melody said.
“Don’t you worry. I already know that Lennon will click with someone.” Elle praised.
