Chapter 1
Kind of a Re-Introduction
My name is Emma. I have a best friend, who is my only friend, named Toby. Toby made this clicking sound like a clock. He made these sounds because of his Tourettes Syndrome. In my opinion, it wasn't that bad. It could get annoying from time to time, but that was the thing. You just had to get used to it.
Other than Toby, I also had a disease. But it was not Tourettes. My disease was called psychosis. It made me see things, creepy things. I had gotten used to seeing creepy things. Toby and I both saw the same no-faced man. The no-faced man had a slender build and would stare at us. He wore this dark black suit. One day I saw him take a child into the woods. That child never came out, and I never saw that child again. There were missing posters all around the neighborhood looking for them.
Toby had given the no-faced man a name. He called him Slenderman. The name fitted him well. He was a slender man. Hence his name.
I had never told my mom that I saw him because that would've only made her worry for me more, and she should've been worried enough. I didn't need her to worry for me more.
My mom had found a job at the pharmacy, and she got me these pills to help me with my depression. They were like happy pills. They helped, I was a happy girl during school. And at home. When they wore off, I felt worse than before I took them.
Chapter 2
3:00 AM
I was really tired and school was getting to be a drag, I was tired of learning all of the same things. Like geometry, I had already learned how to find "x" at my last school, but they just taught it to me again. I was also tired of learning the things we had learned in like fifth or third grade. I was ready to get a good night's sleep.
I slipped into shorts and a t-shirt. My t-shirt looked and smelled like it hadn't been washed in a week or two. The shorts I wore looked like they belonged to a boy. It was because I was wearing boy shorts. I didn't like how girl shorts fitted on me. They were either too tight or too loose. They also didn't make me feel comfortable during PE.
After getting dressed, I walked over and flipped off the light switch. I then got into bed and pulled the covers up to my neck. A little bit later, my mom's head peeked through the door. "Going to bed without saying goodnight?" I could tell she wasn't as tired as me. "No, not really," I said. I could tell that she knew I was too tired to get out of bed. "Okay then," She replied. Her head disappeared and the door clicked shut.
I rolled over and closed my eyes.
At around three am, I woke up and walked over to the window. I didn't quite know why I was walking over to the window, but I did. I gradually pulled the curtains open. I looked over at the woods. The no-faced man was there. It felt like he was ushering me to go to him. I did not though.
I started to get this giant urge to go to the bathroom. I groaned. I ran as fast as I could to the bathroom. I ran into the bathroom and slammed the door. I then went to the bathroom. In the bathroom, I heard the front door creak open.
