I walked the long infinate halls of the hotel trying to find anything really a room that made me feel anything

"I see your struggling" Dr Norton said making me jump

"A little we keep just findin' things that aren't ours" Dan answered

"Because your just wandering around opening doors" he says "you should only open doors that draw you two them or that you try to ignore, what rooms have you done do far?" He asked

"201, 202, 203, 205, 206, all the way up to 217" dan explained checking his notes

"I see, so all the rooms on this corridor?' he asked

"No... 204. We didn't go in there" I said noticing the hole in his list

"Ohh we must have done, I must have just forgotten to say" he said sounding very nervous

"What was in room 204 Mr Johnson?"

"I- I don't I don't remember..." Dan answered

"We hadn't been in there Dan" I told him

"Oh course v-ve have I must have forgotten" Dan answered

"Your stammer?" I said in shock hearing the stammering out of his mouth a noise I remember from so long ago

"Stammer what stammer?" Dan asked

"Dan your stammer it..."

"Are you afraid I that room?" Dr Norton asked

"No!" Dan argued

"Then why did your mind completly block it out?" Dr Norton asked "something in that room scares you, it contains something you fear."

I looked and saw the door beside us read 204.

"Open the door Daniel" Dr Norton told him, he took a breath before opening the door the room was the same as all the others but had a bunch of boys on laptop's all dressed strangely

"There he is! Dummy Daniel here to cry all over everyone, v-v-v-vhats v-v-v-vrong baby you gonna cry?" The boys laughed and other such things

"It's common in children with even mild speech disorders to be ridiculed. When did it start?"

"He spoke like that since he was born... The stammer. Never knew why, he hid it eventually under the no ending g's don't know why it just worked" I explained

"I thought his dilect was unusual" he said "that isn't fixing it, it's simply hiding it, accepting a accent or dilect less easy to mock then a stutter is a interesting choice." He explained "it won't go away... Till he's not scared of it anymore"

I didn't know what to do, if I could fix Dan then I would. I had always been worried about fixing myself first. I went and stood with him as a tear rolled down his cheek "Dan... Your not a kid anymore there people are grown up, mature, they work in banks and have babies. There words don't mean anything" I told him "they never did mean anything, there just Dick's being Dick's" I told him and he did crack a little smile

"It's not so easy v-vhen it's v-vords you've repeated in your head your v-vhole life"

"Then don't let the words have power over you, forget them." I told him wiping away a tear "for the record Dan, I liked your stammer" I smiled

"You did?"

I nodded "I thought it was cute" I smiled "it used to make me happy"

"My shitty stammer used to make you happy?"

"Always" I smiled giving him a tight hug and he hugged me back

"That's a breakthrough first fear" Dr Norton told us as I looked and the room was empty

I looked at him as he smiled at me giving my head a kiss

"Your good at this" Dan smiled to me "my little vifey" he laughs making me giggle too
