Laura’s father was saying something when we got in the car. I couldn’t hear, my mind was elsewhere. He stopped when he saw Laura. The look on his face changed dramatically. I would feel the same if my daughter came crying from a party, when she usually had so much fun.

No one in their right minds would ask Laura what happened at that moment, so he didn’t. The worried look on his face made me even worse. That was going to stay with them forever. I still didn't know exactly what the boy had done. But I would kill him if I ever saw him again. It made me mad thinking he was probably unaware of what he had caused.

I had nothing to say to Laura’s father. I just looked at him and he realised he should leave it quiet. But I couldn’t just let him be even more worried, so I silently tried to calm him down, I mouthed the words: I don’t know. Give her time. He nodded. There wasn’t much more we could do then. Throughout the whole way, I hugged her as tight as possible, trying to comfort her was the only thing I had.

As soon as we arrived at their house, Laura’s father told me to take her to her bedroom and stay there. He would talk to her mother. I obviously knew where was her room, so I led her there. Laura still looked in shock. I could still see tears coming down her cheeks. I almost cried every time I saw her face, but i had to be focused. I helped her put on a large t-shirt she wore to sleep, layed down and I turned off the lights. I was going away to take a shower and then sleep in their sofa. I had warned my parents I would stay the night there. Laura needed me.

-Clara- I heard Laura saying very quietly while I was tip toeing my way out.

-What?- I turned.

- Can you stay?

- I’m going to sleep in your sofa, call me if you need me.

- No, here.

I went back and layed down on the edge of her bed and hugged her.
