PART 2: The End is the Beginning
The four siblings did not have a chance to mourn their father’s departure. For the great evil he foretold soon covered their home in darkness. The siblings went outside their home, to look at the catastrophe that was happening around them, the blue sky turned a dark grey, balls of fire fell all around, and in the distance, they could hear thunder roaring through the darken skies. Terra and Aqua headed down the hill towards the village to put out the fires and protect the people of the village, meanwhile Amber and their brother buried their father outside of their home, so he may rest in peace.
It’s been a week since the darkness came, the three sisters worked tirelessly to put out fires and divert the balls of flame away from the village. As for their brother, he stayed in his father’s study, studying all spell books Varuze had written hoping in one of them held an answer. As of giving them a chance to breath, the balls of fire stopped falling. The sisters took this small chance to return home and rest for a bit. They entered their small cabin at the top of the hill, they were just making their greetings when something shook the ground below them, making them almost lose their balance.
They all ran outside and went to stand where the village was able to be seen from the hilltop. Above to the north skies a black cloud which lighted menacing with thunder was making its way toward them, that’s when the rain of fire commenced once more. The siblings were all awestruck but took on a defensive stance ready for battle. As the dark cloud neared, the brother remembered something:
“In Father’s study there is a spell book I just found and its filled with assorted spells he never mentioned; maybe one of them can help us!” said their brother as he ran up the hill towards their home. Over head the sisters saw a ball of fire flying towards them, Terra called upon the winds to slow the fiery ball; with no effort, she then casted a spell to make the ground rise to shield her sisters.
The fiery ball passed them; they weren’t it target. Instead the ball of fire was heading to their small home just when their brother entered the home. The sisters were about to scream when it impacted their home and immediately the small home was engulfed in flames. The three sisters called out for their brother but no answer, they all ran towards their burning home but were stopped by the black cloud as it surrounded them into a thick black mist. In it a menacing deep laughter echoed. The sisters took on a fighting defensive stance, Amber broke the silence;
“Where are you?!” she yelled angrily. “Come out you vile man! You’ll pay for what you done!”
“Hehehe…. You think you can scare me? Why you’re a mere child compared to what that fool who sealed me long ago.”
This angered Terra, “Don’t you dare mention our Father!”
“He was but a fool to think you could best me when he could not.”
Young innocent Aqua couldn’t contain her frustration, “Quiet! We may be weak alone,”
“Aqua?!” Amber cried.
“But hear me! Together we are mightier than your dark magic! We will defeat you!”
“Way to say it sister! Sisters at my side!” Terra shouted courageously and continued “I call upon the winds that make our world flow, hear my call upon thee and make this mist bow!”
In that instance the Earth specter shined brilliantly, the winds turn the mist around them and made it subside to reveal a figure dress in black standing outside. He emitted the dark mist from his feet, the sisters screamed a battle cry and ran towards their foe. Amber called forth a fire serpent from the ground and send it flying towards their foe, he intersected with the same black mist and the serpent disappeared. Terra made vines rise; an attempt to entrap the dark wizard. The wizard struggled but soon engulfed himself in his dark mist, the vines turned into dust. Aqua summoned a geyser from the ground and made the hot water sprout towards their foe, and again the black mist surrounded the wizard acting like a shield. As if containing the force from the geyser, the wizard reflected it force and let out an impact which made the sisters fall to the ground.
“You think you could best me?!” said the Dark Wizard. “You are nowhere near to what I had to endure with your foolish father!”
As for a sign for one last hope, the scepters shined brilliantly equally, each casting a soft glow that paired with one another. The sisters looked at each other and nodded. They rose to their feet once more, sending glares at their foe.
“You all amuse me, but now I’m getting bored. Let me end you three now!” He dashed toward them.
Terra rose her scepter to the sky, “Earth!”
“Fire!” Shouted Amber who did the same keeping it close to her elder sister’s scepter.
Aqua followed their lead and shouted, “Water!”
“We call upon the magic bestowed in our scepters, hear our call and help us seal he who wields darkness before us! Terra, Solis, Luna!” said the three sisters together, as all three scepters shined very brilliantly, and three pillars of lights twisted as it shot towards their foe. The lights hit his chest, making him stop in his tracks, he shouted very painfully. It took each sister to hold their scepters with two hands to aim and contain the strength their scepters emitted.
“No!” the Dark Wizard shouted. “I will not be contained! So long as there is dark magic, I will return!” He disappeared in a flashing light and above the blue skies returned, as the rain of fire stopped. The sister’s scepters stopped emitting their glow. The sisters let their scepters dropped to the ground softly. They continue to grasp for air as most of their strength went into the combined spell. Amber said very tiredly; “did we kill him?”
Terra was gasping for air but was able to say; “I’m afraid not, something tells me a part of his magic still lingered. We must find it and seal-”
“Sisters?” Aqua said in a panicking voice. Amber and Terra turned to face their young sister as their eyes widen in horror, “Aqua!” The both cried.
Aqua’s hand were slowly disappearing, then the young sister gasped and said “You too! You’re both disappearing?!”
“I guess we over did it with that spell,” said Terra has she examined her own hand.
“Sisters forever?” Aqua who was scared asked.
Amber approached her and told her, “forever, and we will probably see brother and father on the other side,” she said very happily as she continued to close the space between her sisters.
“We will be reunited?” Aqua asked innocently.
“Always.” Terra said as she took in both her sisters in an embrace and hugged them tightly. The three sisters gave their last breath and slowly their bodies completely disappeared, the only thing that remained was their scepters, which were still on the ground.
