Haven:

     One second. I turned my head for one second to signal Aylward. I turned my head for one second and almost ended up in a tangled heap on the ground. It took me a few moments to realize I never fell. I opened my eyes and looked around. The humming stranger grabbed me and saved me from falling.

     His hair is jet black and falls in soft curls down to his shoulders. His eyes are such a unique color of green and it looks like the sun is shining through them. Soft, full, well defined lips curve up into an amused smirk while his eyebrows rise in surprise.

     He is young, around my age, but extremely well dressed. He is dressed to blend in with the human world more than our secret realm of magic. Somehow, he doesn’t look out of place in this city, he looks like he owns it. He is wearing a dark grey button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his forearms. His shirt is tucked into expensive dress pants and he has a silver watch on his wrist, not that I am staring…. because I’m not.

     I finally look back up to his face and realize that I am, in fact, staring at him. He caught me getting my eyeful of him and my face flames in embarrassment. I look back at Aylward and my face goes from bright red to a pale white full of dread. Aylward is looking at this good looking stranger like he is seeing a ghost. I untangle myself from the stranger and rush over to Aylward.

     “Aylward?!” I whisper, not wanting to giver our names away to the stranger. We are in enemy territory after all. “Are you ok? I need you to talk to me. Tell me what’s wrong.”

     Aylward turns to me and the anguish is clear in his eyes. “Its him, Haven. We found him,” Aylward’s voice cracks with emotion.

     I look over at the young man and ask, “Your name wouldn’t happen to be Amory, would it?” He blinked in surprise and slowly nodded his head.

     “How do you know my name? No stranger has ever known my name. My father never uses it with anyone other than me.” Amory is suspicious of us. He is starting to slowly walk backwards, looking for help. I realize we only have a few minutes to do something, I look at Aylward and see he is thinking the same thing. He gives me a slight nod and that is my only hint that he is about to do something. Before Amory can react, Aylward rushes to one side of him and I move to the other. Amory turns to face Aylward, so I am behind him, which works out perfectly after Aylward hits him with a sleeping spell and he falls backwards. I catch him and gently lay down. He is tall and his skin is a dark tan color. As of now he is officially kidnapped… by his uncle. He is going to be so mad when he wakes up.
