Maradith was waiting for Wallkery at the door, and after a week of waiting, even her patience had worn thin. As she was sitting on the stool trying to read one of the only books that she had. After reading the same page for the tenth time she slowly slipped off into a mindlessness. Staring off into space, folding into timeless thought, she moved back into a time so long ago when she had family.
A shadow crossed over her bent head and looking up Maradith saw a wolf that was far too large to be a normal wolf. Jumping back Maradith looked frantically around and paused when she saw Wallkery with a bemused look on her face. “What is this!” Maradith whispered in a hushed whisper, in hopes that the beast would ignore her. The beast rose to an impossibly tall height and looked down on her while Wallkery stood silent and waited. Slowly the retaliation dawned that the beast was not attacking her and tilting her head to looked at the wolf with new eyes she saw the freshly healed wounds and the eyes that looked almost human.
The wolfs eyes were of the calmest and clearest blue, almost like a still river that could suck you deep in and never let you relies you had fallen in. Some who later claimed to look into her eyes would claim that they behaved like a whirlpool and always swirled in a never-ending dance. Her fir was a blue so dark that it could be mistaken for black and only under the care fullest observation could it be seen as its true color. The underbelly was a silver like a moon from a fairy tale.
After staying like this for what seemed like ages, Maradith finally reached out and touched the black nose of the beast and instantly a pink tong dangled from the side of its mouth. Within seconds the two were acting like old friends who had not seen each other in years.
Bending down to level of the two Wallkery introduced the two. “Maradith this is Beast, Beast this is Maradith.”
“Nice to meet you Beast” Maradith said scratching her head. then looking at Wallkery she said in a dead min tone “You are not seriously calling her that.”
“And why shouldn't I?” questioned Maradith with a voice of teasing “she likes it, don’t you?” this last thing was said with a back scratch which proceeded a smile from the wolf. “see she is smiling.” She finished looking like she had won.
“Very well I will give in, but you are feeding her, Oh and the village elders want you to visit tomorrow.”
