YANYAN’S POV
Cristy said this girl might be a fairy. Judging by her mana pattern and faint aura of light essence… she’s right. (So, pretending to sleep now, huh?)
“I know you’re awake,” I said, turning toward the door. “Stand and follow me.”
As I stepped outside, a soft glow illuminated the hall. White silk floated through the air, covered in flickering colors like tiny stars. For a second, I froze—it was mesmerizing. Before I realized it, she was already standing right in front of me.
“Hey, mister,” she said. Her voice was light, melodic—almost like a song. The faint sound of bells echoed with every word.
I tilted my head. “Lady, may I ask your name? And can you explain what really happened to you?”
“My name is Raschidiya,” she began softly. “I am of royal blood from the Fairy World—a realm existing in the fourth dimension. Fairies lived in peace there… until the day the skies split open. A massive portal formed, and demons poured through. They unleashed a single curse that wiped out the entire realm.”
Her knees buckled, tears welling up. “I… I couldn’t do anything. I watched my people vanish—my little sister called for me, but I couldn’t reach her.”
Before her sobs escaped the walls, I cast a Sound Barrier, isolating us in silence. “I couldn’t even save her,” she cried, her voice breaking.
Without thinking, I lifted her in my arms. She gasped as we ascended into the open air—sky above, clouds below. Her glittering hair danced in the wind as she clung tightly to me.
“Who are you?” she whispered. “How can you do this? Are you… a god?”
I smiled faintly. “No. Not a god. Just someone who walks two paths.”
“Two… paths?”
“I was born with the System of Infinite Knowledge, a power that governs all magic. But I also cultivate Ki, the energy of body and spirit. One gives me limitless potential; the other keeps me grounded in strength. Together, they make me what I am.”
She blinked, trying to process it. I continued, “You better save your tears. You said your world vanished—but maybe it didn’t.”
“Huh?” she looked up.
“Think about it. Fairy royalty have dimensional awareness skills, right? Someone powerful among your elders might have shifted your entire world to another plane. You were the only one outside the barrier when it happened—that’s why you were left behind.”
Her eyes widened. “You mean… they might be alive?”
“Maybe,” I said. “Until you confirm it, don’t bury them in your mind.”
She fell silent, staring at the rising sun. I could see the faint hope returning to her eyes.
“Well,” I said, smiling, “I’m Yanyan. You can call me Yan if you’d like. And I’d like you to lend me your ears for a bit.”
“W‑Why?” she asked, confused.
I leaned close and whispered, “Let me help you find them.”
Her breath hitched as she stared at me. “Why are you helping me? I have nothing to repay you with.”
I chuckled softly. “Not everything needs repayment. I help because I want to. Maybe I just like discovering new realms—and beautiful people who live in them.”
Her cheeks turned pink. “Promise… you won’t leave me?”
“I doubt that would happen,” I said, grinning. “But yes—I’ll help you.”
Her tears returned, but this time, they carried warmth instead of sorrow. “Please… help me,” she said, her voice trembling.
I placed my hand on her head and kissed her forehead gently. “It’s okay. I’ll be with you always.”
She blushed deeply, her wings flickering in faint light as I teleported us back to the same stage—the grand chamber that now served as the center of my domain. I told her to rest for now, and she nodded quickly before darting off, flustered.
(Ha… my harem is building itself, huh?)
I smirked to myself. “God, I thank you for this blessing—”
Oops. That was loud.
“Yan?” my mother’s voice echoed from the lower floor. Of course. “I told you to lower your voice when people are sleeping!”
I teleported down to the stairs. She was cooking again. “Mom, why are you still cooking? It’s two a.m.! You should rest.”
“It’s five a.m., Yan,” she said, sighing. “You never sleep, that’s why you lose track of time.”
Right… she’s been saying that often. But with Infinite Knowledge, my System tells me exactly when my body needs rest. Still, how could I argue with her? She’s my mom.
“Yes, Mom,” I said sheepishly. “I’ll sleep tomorrow.”
She gave me that look—half stern, half loving—and went back to cooking.
I walked to my room and finally laid down. The moment I closed my eyes, the familiar voice echoed inside my mind.
“SYSTEM UPGRADE IN PROGRESS… please be on standby, Host.”
A faint light covered my body, Ki and Magic intertwining.
