Part 3 Reunion
Chapter 7 City
Ari, 15:03, Aug 16th, 3049, Friday
Sometimes I wonder to the places I’ve never been. But it’s rather disappointing now, when I can’t go back. I traveled a lot and I never thought I’d be stuck in one place and lose joy for sightseeing. I’m sad. I’m bored. I’m… angry a bit. Even work is less satisfying somehow. Is it what they call slump? Or depression?
E: - Hey, why so grumpy.
A: - Oh, hi Emma. It’s nothing.
E: - Homesick?
A: - Not really.
E: - Lonely?
A: - Maybe.
E: - Let’s go to the city.
A: - I’ll pass.
E: - Hey
A: - Too much of a trouble.
E: - Come on!
A: - What?
E: - I’ll show you something. Let’s go.
A: - What about work?
E: - Let’s wrap it up for today.
A: - Okay, okay.
…
A: - Did we traveled for an hour to see this dump?
E: - Not exactly. Just a bit more
A: - Where we are, by the way?
E: - My home district.
A: - What? Isn’t it prohibited?
E: - It was. Are you forgetting I’m 66?
A: - Oh, I see.
E: - Yeah, it got unlocked a few years ago. And this is the place.
A: - A café?
E: - Yes, my favorite. I think its owner was the last person I knew here. My friends are moved out pretty quickly as did I.
A: - Who’s it is now?
E: - His granddaughter.
A: - So what is so good about it.
E: - Pancakes. Let’s go inside.
A: - Ok

A: - I need a moment, please order something for me.
E: - Alright, are you sure be ok?
A: - Yes.
E: - Ok then, I’ll be back soon.
How could it be? Chances are … so few cases. Is this the next one?
E: - I’m back. How do you feel?
A: - Shocked
E: - What happened?
A: - My friend awakened.
E: - Impossible
A: - I thought so to, but I’ve just got ‘contact restored’ and his info back. Now I have you and him in my contact list.
E: - Unbelievable. But it’s good news, right?
A: - Yeah. I wonder how his life was after my death.
E: - Were you close?
A: - Yeah. I didn’t have a lot of friends to begin with and I didn’t get along well with people in general. But to think that my best friend would awaken…. Such low probability. It’s kinda hard wrap my head around it.
E: - I made an order, but maybe you want to go back? We can switch to take away.
A: - No I think it’s fine. He is just awakened. He’ll need some time anyway. And I'll think about it when I'm back.
E: - Thought you'd say something like this.
A: - Hehe, you quite perceptive. Tell me more about this place and your childhood.
E: - I lived two blocks from here. ... ...
