Tokai is a boy forced to live on the peaks of mountains in order to conceal his existence from society. If Tokai was ever to be found in the village of Ondekaru he would be rejected because of his appearance. Thus, he lives in a small shack on the top of mount kenya and lives his life out. An endless wait for death, no reason in life. Tokai is just there. The wind blows around the flow of his snow white hair as he leans against the railing of his porch and enjoys the view of the hussle and bussle of the village below him. The trees shake and release their light coloured flowers, after all it is blooming season. Tokai stands up straight and considers just for a moment if he’ll ever walk into Ondekaru. But he immediately punishes himself for this awful thought as Kishimo sensei tells him. Tokai walks in through the door he exited from and finds himself in his one story two bedroom one main room interior. The main room consists of a kitchen in the back and a door leading to a trail back to the village which is always locked in order to restrain Tokai from leaving. Only Kishimo sensei knows of the whereabouts of the key to unlock the door. The front side includes the door to the front porch, the couches laid out in front of each other and the wall is almost entirely one large window.

Now, about Tokai’s appearance, that makes him so special. His eyes have no pupils. This mutation is called the Devil’s Curse. This mutation is feared by the residents of Ondekaru because it unlocks a range of abilities that far surpass the current lengths of human strength. It’s like having a third eye. It gives him telekinetic abilities. Such as moving rocks around and clearing a path in the water like Moses to cross through a river. Although Kishimo sensei may not have the Devil’s Curse, he was a friend of Tokai’s parents and had adopted Tokai at birth after Tokai unknowingly slaughtered his mother and father after birth. So sensei guides him through his training in order to one day be able to beat Satan in combat and to finally free himself of this damned curse and live his life out like others. Because as of now, he’s barely living to say the least.
