Once again, this time of year,
The snow falls down and painting white,
Sit eerily and watch the sky,
The darkness of this long-lost night.
And next to me as bright as day,
My love does comfort me in fright,
While singing lullabies of love,
Holding onto me so tight.
To see two birds that fly again,
In spring they spread their wings,
In summer may the scorching sun,
Alleviate what autumn brings.
Not all fair tales may be forgotten,
But this one surely knows to jest,
A villain in the eyes of mine,
That is no villain to detest.
To travel all the way to south,
And east and west and migrate too,
The birds that travel in a swarm,
The two forgotten as they flew.
To see two birds that fly again,
In spring they spread their wings,
In summer villains at their peak,
Breaks off what had the birds and brings,
The darkness of this long-lost night.
