"This place is a place I told myself I'd bring you to someday. I knew you would love it. This place doesn't have a name-" "Miracle!" "That's a great name. Mainly because the people come here come to pray for their true love, it comes true every time depending on how true the person's feelings are, and if the person that they're praying for has the same feelings."
Nick grabs my hand and asks, "Would you like to pray with me?" I blush hard not knowing how to respond. After a moment, I pull my hand away hesitantly, turning my head slightly to the side. "Too soon? Sorry…" "It's fine. I just… Yeah, too soon." "Sorry. Should we go?" "No! I like it here. We can sit down and relax for a bit," I say in more of a questioning tone than anything.
"Yeah. We can sit down here for now. We have a little while before our next class." For some reason, even though it's quiet, I like it. For me it's not awkward at all. I don't know how he feels though. Out of nowhere a sound yanks me out of my thoughts.
“What was that,” I ask in a demanding tone. “Relax, it’s my alarm. We have to head back before you get caught by Tyler. Before we head back though, I want to ask you something. Can I hold hands with you,” He asked, turning his face because of the blush growing on. “Sure.”
His hand embraces mine in a graceful manner. As he intertwined our fingers we started to pick up our pace. “I’ll let go of your hand just before the gates.” “Kay.” I smiled sweetly up at him, not knowing what else to do. By now we are running because we didn’t want to be late to class.
“Huff… huff… huff, l-looks like we’re huff, here,” Nick puffed out. “Yup.” “How the hell are you not out of breath? You didn’t even break a sweat from that run.” “You may work out every morning, but I run every morning.” He punches my arm in a playful manner as we walk through the open fence.
The bell rang the moment we walked in school. “We got back just in time then,” I stated. Since I wasn’t watching where I was going, I ran into someone. That someone wrapped their hands around me. “Did you come out early just to see me wifey?” I hear a random but familiar voice ask. I backed up out of the hug to see who it was that I ran into.
“Hey, babe. Are you cheating on me with your boyfriend,” Ty asks in a teasing manner. “Oh! How did you ever find out,” I say in an obviously sarcastic tone. “My heart hurts now. How could you do this to me? Now I’ll be alone forever.” He continues. Nick jumps into our conversation. “I’m sorry to interrupt you two, but we gotta get going to class or we’ll be late.”
