He couldn't believe his eyes. Saren rushed over to his mothers' side. Seeing all of the cuts and bruises from her fight with the Viking adventurer. Saren started to tear up going up to his mom's head. Placing his forehead against hers to speak again. It looked like she wasn't going to make it if he did do something.
[ Mother wake up! I need your help, and I don't know what to do...]
His mothers' eyes opened weakly barely knowing what was in front of her eyes.
[My, how you've grown little prince. I knew you could do it.😊]
[ Mother listen I can't heal quickly enough and I don't know how to heal you is there anything around that can save us both!]
She weakly shakes her head.
[No? What do you mean!? There is nothing here to heal or cure?]
[There may still be something. The adventurer died so his stuff is for anyone to take. Look inside his bag there on his waist and see what inside..]
His mothers' voice started getting weaker. She started coughing up blood. Saren ran to the dead Vikings corpse and searched inside using 'appraisal inventory' showing only one-half bottle of a healing potion. There was some food and random stuff he didn't have time to inspect. He was frantically looking for more potions.
[ Saren, my little prince, come here please.]
His mother saw his face go from frantic to devastated. Sarens eyes started tearing up walking to her face, which had turned paler than a couple of seconds ago. You wouldn't be able to tell who's blood was who's because there was so much around them.
[ Saren, mother wants you to drink that vial in your hands. Just be a good boy and do that for me...]
Saren drinks it curing the acid effect and bringing his health to full and his injuries gone. He was still fighting back the tears.
[ Mother... This is all there was... Please tell me there is another way to save you...]
[ No my sweet little prince... There's not much time left for me... I've lived long enough. Don't you worry about me? I know you'll find your friends and help so many lives. I'm going to give you my core as a goodbye present.]
[ Mother I'm so sorry that I wasn't strong enough it fast enough to save you! I promise you that I won't let anyone I care about die in front of me again... I... I... I'm gonna miss you.]
[ it's okay my little prince. I'm sure you be strong enough to save everyone. I will be with you in your little heart. Now do what you can to escape the dungeon. Use this core however you need it for. As long as it helps you or your friends ill be happy.😊]
His mother used the rest of her strength and pulled out her core. Because of her age and being a siren. His mother's body started to designate into mana dust. It was a light blue sparkle.
She handed him the core and said her last words
[ Be strong my little prince. Goodbye.....]
She faded away into the dungeon. Saren stood there with the core in his hand hugging his mom as she was fading away. He started to cry the hardest he's cried in any of his lives.
While he was crying something behind his was growning and moving around. It was the Viking!!!! When Saren saw that man was still alive, he lost it. In a blind rage, Saren jumped onto the Viking before he could get up. Biting his throat while the adventure was trying to pull him of frantically. A few moments later his arms dropped to his sides. With a blood-covered face, Saren woke up from his blind rage. Seeing what he had done because the monster took control for a split second. He looked down at his hands covered in blood. Then seeing his face in the water as the blood dripped off his body. He didn't like what he saw. He was so upset about everything.
The only thing that snapped him out of it was seeing the core shine from the shallow water and his mother's last words.
( Get yourself together!)
Slapping his own face a couple of times. He picked up the bag placed the core from his mother inside it. It was a lesser void bag. It can carry more than a regular bag but still on the cheaper side for a strong adventurer.
Saren was able to just walk to the next layer. All of the enemy monsters were either dead from his mother's fight, hiding, or ran away. He had strapped the side pouch on his back because it was big enough to be a backpack for him. Finally reaching the next layer a few minutes later.
Still in his sadness, he figured to check his stats since he technically killed the Viking.

Title: Evolved Variant, Swamp Siren, Omnivore, Bad Blood, Momma's boy, Orphan, Berserker.
(Finally, my health and mana are going up and the rest of my stats seem pretty good. I've leveled up a couple of my skills, and not sure how I feel about this new skill, berserker mode. I never want to lose control of myself again.)
With a big sigh, Saren hits his face to focus on his task and put aways his feelings till he can afford to put his guard down.
(Now that I've beat my home layer of the dungeon, I've got to focus clearing the next 4 layers to get out of here. Hopefully, I can gain a good amount of experience points.)
Layer 4 was home to a spiders nest, the Queens of the layer were twin sisters. One had red on there back with a broken half of a heart, the other had the other half on the back. It had a blue color instead.
Saren had some trouble but with his new magic combo using water and lightning magic. He easily defeated them and all of there hundreds of children. That level raised his level up to 18.
The 3rd only raise his level by 2 making it an even 20. The opponents seem to be much weaker including the deaths of kings and queens of the 4th layer.
He was only 10 more levels away from evolving again. By the time he arrived in the 2nd layer, it had almost been 3 months in the dungeon layers. Restocking food and water vials was just a regular way of life for him. The first layer, just the site of the stone door frame got him super excited to finally go out and be able to find his friends.
What Saren didn't know was that the last 2 layers would give him a new friend and later a kingdom of enemies.
