Saren looked into the area where Shoku was evolving for 3 whole days. The was a glow of orange-red coming from shokus left eye. The small chills when down sarens spine as shoku left the dark corner and into the new day's clear sky. He saw that Shoku had evolved into some else entirely. He walked towards saren almost like a zombie.

  He had grown grey skin that covered all of his bones with no organs inside. Long white ruffled hair just below his shoulders. Also, an awkward moment when Saren realized he needed clothes for his 'new body parts...'. Saren threw the rags they used as blankets by the campfire. He wears the ragged white sheet like a toga. The horn on his head was still there made from bone, but now he's gained a physical eye the other remained closed.

  Saren checked his status to see what had changed so drastically.

  Saren was shocked by this massive boost since he checked last his stats.

( Jeez Shoku chill! Your basically another cheat character in this world.  I can't say much tho myself. Now his species title is Ghoul? Looks like a zombie and mummy had a baby.)

He finds his own jokes hilarious.

(This is great tho! He's got 3 boosters, dark magic and all of his senses compiled into one. Also... WHO IS MAKING THESE TITLES!! Seriously! Spooky and Flasher? This is the only downside to evolving basically.)

  After Saren calmed his mind and gathered up his materials for food water and medicinal herbs. He found them with his appraisal skill. He wants to learn to make his own so that they need it most

  ( All right Shoku now that your evolution is complete. Now it'll be your turn to watch over me so that I can evolve. )

Sarens jaw dropped when he heard...

( Yes........... Master.........)

Saren almost fell on his rear stumbling backward from what he heard. Shoku made a battle stance ready to protect his master.

(Holy shit!! You can talk!?! And... Don't call me master just call me Saren.)

(Yes..... Master....... Saren)

( No... just Saren... Fine, it'll work for now I guess. Now just stand guard while I prepare for my evolution.)

  Before Shoku could respond Saren heard some branches breaking out in the wood behind the house. Without a second passing Saren grabs Shokus hand and the starts running. The hear something following them. They believe that it's the humans and they finally caught up to them.

( We're totally boned if that Bodyguard is right behind us. We've got to find another place to stay so I may be able to evolve.)

  They take a sharp turn right on the mountainside, to lose the pursuer(s). The mountain in the middle sections of the 4 areas of the diamond continent.

  They find a cave after running a few more miles away from the main road that leads to the border. The cave they find not too far from the borders wall.

  They hunker down and make it their new base camp for now. Saren couldn't sense anything around the cave with his skills. There was nothing but rocks and water dropping from the dark cave ceiling.

  They started the fire, while it was crackling they Saren brought out the last pieces of human food they had from the void bags they stole. Saren was starting to think of his situation more.

( Now that I'm out of the dungeon I haven't had a moment to myself like this. It feels kinda nice to relax a little. No siblings trying to eat me, running for my life, just me time.)

( I thought when we were brought into this world by the goddess the first time that I was going to have a hard time. That would have been such a nice easy life. I've had just basic training like any basic knight our first couple days here. Then we were murdered. I thought life would be so much more fun and the adventures would be legendary tales for the people. We didn't even get that.

  Once we get back to the kingdom, I don't care if I have to take down the whole royal guard. I'm gonna ask this 'king' who did this to us. I know for certain he's hiding something because he doesn't make his own decisions apparently from what I've overheard.

  Besides all that stuff I miss my friends. I was told they were okay but doesn't help me worry any less. I worry the most for Izumi. I hope I can find them before they get hurt.)

  The campfire still flickering as the sun was going down in front of him. Shoku was just standing like he always does. Except now he's got a face at least. Still with his mouth partially open. Doing nothing.

  As the sun was setting there was a large movement in the ground like a stampede heading in our direction. Saren got up from his brief rest to get ready to fight. He also had Shoku at the ready for anything.

  The tension and Sarens heartbeats increased the closer this thing came. They faced the direction from where it was the loudest. Then out from the trees, a large dinosaur-like monster appeared. Breaking down branches and whole trees as it tried ramming straight us. As they both dodged this massive creature, Saren noticed something weird on it's back. It was a giant rock trying to wrap its arms around its head.

  He used his appraisal on both to see what was going on. They crashed into the wall of the mountainside, making the large monster fall to its side. Saren had read the names of both creatures. The large beast was a Reptigoa. Short for a Reptilian Goliath. Dinosaur like looks with an abnormal sized head. It's a herbivore creature gentle in nature unless provoked in protecting children or fending for its life.

   The other creature was a Magma Golem. They withstand the highest temperatures with ease. Lives only near volcanos or in dungeons. This one also came with its own name. It was Sarens childhood best friend Zander.

  From behind the reptigoa, a medium-sized golem appeared smaller than he was before. While rubbing his head saying.

  "Dino lady I was trying to tell you I didn't take your stupid eggs. It was those soldiers from the kingdom."

He slid down the side of the reptigoa onto his feet, brushing off branches, twigs and takes a pine cone from his ear.

Not even a second later Saren tackle hugs Zander but he didn't even budge an inch.

  They both couldn't believe their eyes.

"Saren!!? Is that you with a fishy face? I've missed you so much, man. I can tell you sir need a bath asap. Haha"

Saren pushes his forehead close to Zanders creating the short-range telepathy he did with his mom and shoku.

( Yes, it's me you big boulder brain! I can't speak verbally i have another evolution but we've been on the run from the kings' men escaping my dungeon. This is my newly created companion Shoku he's a variant monster like us. He can talk sorta... But anyway, what the fuck was that all about you almost killed us?)

By this time the sunset and the stars were out creating beautiful scenery. They all sat around the campfire. The Reptigoa mother was still unconscious. Zander sighed and with a deep breath, he says.

  " Well saying where do i begin seems pointless so here's how i was reborn into this wacky world."😁
