You're so stupid were the first words I told Robin when he came back to school. Robin had been making silly faces at me since he walked in the building.

"Yes, I am." I rolled my eyes. "But I mean, you love this stupid kid." I laughed at him.

"You wish." He flicked me in the forehead and walked away. I watched as he walked with ease. The way his hands were in his pocket, how he looked so cool while strutting along.

"If you keep staring, he might do a trick." I jumped at the sound of a girls voice. Girls never talk to me... this is weird. "Hey!" Serenity giggled at me.

"Oh hey... yeah, I wasn't staring at him. I was looking at the poster over there. Bible club... sounds fun. Right?"

"Uh huh... yeah." She rolled her big brown eyes at me. "That's Robin I presume." This girl was giving me the strangest look. Her eyes smiled, her cheeks were red, looked like she was suppressing a laugh. I eyed her back... we were having a face-off... with our faces. Chase don't say that.

"Yeah, it is." I just nodded. I swear if I made one wrong move she would sense it. Let's just say the same thing.

"He's the one that beat up the other kid?"

"Yeah, he is."

"He seems... mysterious."

"Yeah, he is."

"He's cute."

"Yeah, he is," I slapped myself. "I didn't mean that. I mean... yeah he's handsome and all. Wouldn't be surprised if a girl likes him. I mean I don't like him. I mean as a friend yeah." Oh my god, Chase shut up. "Ah shit."

"So you wouldn't mind if I... asked him out?" I glared at her for a second... no, a millisecond.

"Why would I mind?" I cleared my throat. "Anyways I should go. You know, school. Class, biology. Gotta study hard am I right?" My voice cracked a tad... I thought puberty already hit me hard.

"Uh huh... yeah. Go ahead and study hard."

I stomped away from her. I wasn't doing it for a specific reason... I just wanted to stomp.

"How?" Was the only thing I heard before walking into biology.

"Well you see, you just have to put one foot in front of the other rapidly, then you can walk."

"Not that you dork." My brother rolled his eyes at me. "I mean how did you talk to Serenity?"

"Well you see, my brain is a crucial step in the process of talking—"

"I swear to god Chase I will punch you."

"I don't know what you mean. I literally just talked to her. You know, like how I talk to you. Easy." Jace pouted for a second. "You can talk to her. I know you can." This is what brothers do. Hype the other one up. Well, at least I think so. "Anyways, Jace. I'm trying to not fail biology so pardon my parting." I opened the door to bio... my worst class.

I passed Robin on the way to lunch. He stopped me and cracked a joke, we laughed like we always do. He had one of his giant arms across my shoulder, it was funny how gentle he was. "Have you learned anything in the last four classes?"

"Yes...to pay attention." Robin softly slapped my cheek and rolled his eyes.

"You're an idiot."

"No, you are."

"You're right, I am. But I'm probably smarter than you, that makes you an imbecile." He ruffled my hair before leaving. I was left smiling to myself— I ended up smiling all the way to the lunch table. It had to be ceased when I sat down.

"Hey boys!" I waved to the group as they all appeared. Jack and Jake were almost wearing the same thing. Everything the same but the colors were different. Jace walked up with ease. Kind of like he was copying Robin, in a way.

"Why are you walking like that? You look stupid." I told Jace while he sat down in front of me.

"I'm not walking weirdly. This is how I always walk!" I rolled my eyes at him.

"Noooo, you walk the same way I do, and I do not walk like that." We glared at each other for a while but stopped when my eyes started to burn.

"Hey, look. It's Robin." Now I have no idea who said that, but man did my head whip around to see where he was at. I mean, the kid wasn't lying. Robin was right there. He was eating an apple. He threw the Granny Smith in the air, caught it, and took a bite.

Now, to believe everything would be okay is a childish way of thinking. Especially when Daniel Michelson was here. Yup, the kid that got his nose broken by Robin and sure wanted revenge on him. And here it shows, Daniel is an asshole.

"Oh, it's Robin. What are you doing here?" Daniel snickered like it was funny. Everyone else seemed to think it was funny as well.

"Umm, eating an apple," Robin answered with no emotion. "What are you doing here?"

"Eating lunch. Isn't it obvious?" Boy did everyone laugh. They all seemed to be on that asshole's side.

"Yeah, I thought what I was doing was pretty obvious as well. But for some reason, you still asked." I held back a laugh while everyone sat in awe. I watched how Daniel became flustered. He wrinkled his eyebrows and bit his chapped lip, which looked like it hurt.

"Oh, I see. You think you're all that."

"No, I'm just trying to eat my apple—"

"Just because you broke my nose, you think you're invincible." I really wanted to punch the kid.

"Look, D, I said I was sorry. I didn't mean to hit you that hard. Well, I didn't mean to hit you in general—"

"Ha! You think I'm weak!"

"Where did you get that from? Those words did not come out of my mouth." I could see Robin getting flustered which was part of Daniel's plan. He wanted to get him riled up.

"Yeah, but I read between the lines."

"But we are not reading. We are talking." Oh my god, Robin, you're an idiot. I shook my head at him. We ended up locking eyes for a second, but he quickly looked away.

"You really are dumb." Cue the laughter.

"Yeah, what's your point?" Again, everyone went silent. The crowd seemed to be confused on what emotion they should display.

"You know who else is dumb?" Robin stood in a thinking position.

"You?" Someone ended up laughing. It wasn't me. I mean I totally would, but I didn't. "Listen, I just want to eat my apple in peace. Am I not allowed to do that? Do I have to go outside and eat? Am I bothering you, D?"

"Yeah, why don't we take it outside."

"Okay, I'll bring my apple, and you can bring your burger." I rubbed my temples. Was he acting dumb on purpose? He sure was giving me a migraine.

"You really are an idiot." Daniel stood up, trying to size Robin up. It didn't work, Robin is literally a man, a very buff man.

Daniel took a punch to Robin's chest which did nothing. He ended up shaking his hand which made me laugh.

"That tickled." You know, Daniel could have just left him be. But he didn't. He slapped the apple from Robin's grasp which ended up falling on some girl's plate. "Hey, that's rude. You could have hit the girl." Robin did a saunter and grabbed the apple from the girl. "Sorry 'bout that. I should have held on stronger." She slightly blushed and then told him something. He smiled and gave her a thumbs up then did a grand 'ol akimbo.

"I hate you. I really, really hate you." Robin looked at his apple then threw it away.

"You ruined my poor apple. Well, maybe you saved it. Well, no you didn't. I bit it...and instead of finishing it I threw away. Wow, that poor apple. Man, that's tough." The girl that he was still standing by laughed so he smiled at her. A smile he would typically give me. I mean what.

"I'm going to kill you."

"Hey, I could report you for that." Robin laughed a little then went to pass by Daniel. Daniel held up his hand to his chest and whispered something to Robin. I saw every single muscle tense at once. His hand went into a fist. I coughed loudly causing people to look at me. Robin did as well. I stared into his eyes 'till he smiled. He then whispered something to Daniel and walked off.

"You are a bitch Ryder! I hate you!" I was expecting Robin to turn around and punch him, but he didn't come back.

"So how is y'alls day?"

"Man, he is psycho." One of the twins said.

"Yup, Daniel is an ass." I looked at Jace who wasn't showing any specific emotion. I didn't know if he was mad...sad...happy...bewildered. "B.R.B." I ran into the lunch line, grabbed a bright green apple, then went to where I thought Robin would be. He was just in the back sitting on a bench that was provided. "Got you an apple." I tapped him with it on the shoulder. He smiled brightly at me.

"Thanks, man." He grabbed the Granny Smith and just enjoyed it. "You really saved my butt there."

"Sorry, I guess I'm just getting sick with Robin Fever." We laughed a little, but it was shut down quite quickly. "Is everything good?"

"Mmhmm." Robin started to have a staring contest with the apple.

"You aren't going to win. The apple doesn't have eyes."

"Well, doesn't that mean I won? He can't blink because he doesn't have eyes, so that means he is disqualified."

"You are so dumb." I did an action I didn't mean to do. I tried to convince myself it was out of pure sympathy...I'm not sure though.

My hand did it by itself, my fingers smoothly ran through Robin's black hair. It was tangle-less and incredibly soft.

"You love insulting me, don't you?"

"Yeah, that's my favorite." I ruffled his hair violently with both of my hands making him laugh.

"Gee, thanks. It took me an hour to get my hair this perfect." He grabbed hold of my hand for a split second... it was only to move my hand away, but it still sent a shiver down my spine.

"Oops," I smirked. I ended up watching Robin eat the rest of his apple, he would occasionally smooth down his hair and muttered some insult to me. "You are so weird...Mr. Ryder."
