I impatiently waited at the park. I haven't seen Robin yet, which is odd since he's always here. Always here before me. But I still waited. I tapped my foot on the grass 'till I heard footsteps creeping behind me. My heart began to race. I could hear the pounding in my ears and could feel it from my chest.
"Hey, Chase." I whipped myself around and stared into these beautiful blue eyes. His eyes held emotions that I couldn't figure out.
"Hey, Robin." I stuttered out his name feeling a big lump in my throat. I played with my fingers as he sat down on the grass.
"Damn, I'm so tired." He laughed while rubbing his eyes.
"Then why did you come?" Robin leaned back on the grass, his hair falling from his face.
"I had to get away from my home." Pain. There was pain in his eyes when he spoke. So I sat down next to him and just smiled.
"It's nice to escape once in a while."
"Facts." He reached up to the sky then clenched his fist. So I did the same. Robin just laughed at me with a small sigh. He made me smile.
"I'm really happy I get to come here with you every day." Damn, Chase, stop being so embarrassing. When Robin smiled, his eyes closed and his lips lifted. His nose crinkled as well.
"I'm glad we do as well. If you hadn't appeared randomly, I don't think I would have as much fun. Actually, I wouldn't have fun at all. Hey, Chase," I hummed a yes. "We should come here during the day. It's really nice. It gets a little noisy but I mean, obviously." Was this a date?
"Definitely," I stared at Robin some more 'till he looked at me. It was really awkward, to be honest. And I honestly didn't know what he was going to do at that...but he just laughed. "What? I haven't done anything funny."
"I guess so. But you're just staring at me." I stuck out my bottom lip. "It's fine though. I know I'm attractive." I swung my hand down on his stomach while he laughed. "Hey, you didn't have to hit me." Robin rubbed his stomach even though I didn't hit him hard.
"You're an idiot."
"I'm your favorite idiot." I was going to get ready to hit him again but he just grabbed my hand before I could initiate it. "I got you there." Then I swung my other hand down on his chest. "Shit, I forgot you had two hands."
"Dummy." I escaped his grip. Robin was smiling like a goof. Well, he is a goof.
"You never have anything nice to say to me. You can't say Oh, Robin, you are so smart. Or Robin your hair looks nice." I laughed at his comment.
"Are you really that smart though?" I smiled. "Kidding. Robin, your hair is amazing and you are kind of smart, I guess."
"Kind of smart? I'm pretty sure I have higher grades than you."
"And? Most people have higher grades than me." He laughed.
"And your class rank is what, 600 something." I was about ready to clock him in the mouth. "Kidding."
"Like you're any better. Mr. Gets-Suspended-From-Hurting-A-Kid."
"That's a terrible last name." I gave him a side eye.
"Why do you have to be so witty. It's annoying." Robin shrugged at me while he hoisted himself on his elbows.
"It's in my nature, I guess." I pulled Robin's arm from under him so he fell back on the ground. "Ow, okay. That hurt." I laughed. "Okay not only do you belittle me but you also like to beat me up. You are so abusive."
"I am not." Robin raised his eyebrow at me.
"Yes, you are." I pouted at Robin. "Well, then what would you can hitting me and calling me names?" Robin pulled himself off the ground then held out a hand for me to grab.
"I'm doing it out of love!" I took Robin's soft hand while he pulled me off the grass right in front of him. This kid was a head taller than me...so what I was about to do was already difficult.
"Then, I don't want your love."
"Too bad." My hands started to sweat. I was working up all the courage to do this. I've read online, these feelings I have. This will determine if it's all true. He's so fucking tall.
"Chase, you're staring at me again." His little comment went over my head. I reached up to par in height with this six-foot-something teen. Then I did it. My hands slid against his cool cheeks and my lips touched his.
Was I doing this right? Is this how you kiss someone? I've never kissed someone before. Is this how it works? I couldn't tell if he was kissing me back. I couldn't tell if I was actually kissing him. Well, I'm pretty sure I was. I don't know what else this would be called.
In the quickest of movements, I pushed him back. I don't know why I pushed him back. I kissed him first. It should be the exact opposite.
"Shit. Fuck. Fucking shit."
"Chase?" I could hear the quiver in his voice.
"I-I didn't mean for that—" I couldn't even finish what I was saying. I felt so sick. "I-I got to go." I felt Robin reach for my arm but my legs flew home.
Man, Coach Anderson would be so proud of me.
I didn't attempt to stay quiet while entering the building. In fact, I made a lot of nose. I fell on to my floor and scrambled on my bed where I shoved a pillow in my face. I was tempted to scream but there was other people sleeping in my house. I was actually waiting for someone to bust down my door, but no one did.
Why the fuck did I do that? I sat up on my bed and punched my pillow a few hundred times. It became flat so I petted it like a dog and apologized. My lips still burned from his. You know what, fuck you, Chase. You just ruined the best relationship you have ever had. I was about ready to cry. I should apologize.
"Damn, Chase, you look like you haven't slept." My brother barged into my room while I was changing my clothes.
"I don't feel like going to school today." Which I had a perfectly good reason on why.
"No one ever feels like going to school. Now hurry up, we're running late."
