Meeting the animals - Part 2

Meeting the animals - Part 2

Apr 06, 2020

Daniel took him to the canteen.
“Here, you can watch acrobatic shows made by pigeons, and fights.” He sounded just like one of those guys from 80’s commercials.
“Students get into fights here often? The employees don't stop them?” Max asked. He sounded a bit woozy.
“Pigeon fights. But you can watch fights among students sometimes, they’re rarer than pigeon fights, but they exist. And you can buy food and drinks to watch the fights if you want. What’s a good show without appetizers after all? And just an FYI,” He leaned closer to his ear “When you buy food, go to the stores in front of the school, not the school’s cafeteria. Trust me, you’ll live longer if you do it.”
Then he took him to the greenhouse of the gardening club, right next to the football field.
“Here you can relax next to the artificial lake and smell the flowers. But don’t drink the water from the lake. Some people pee in it.”
“Right... and ah... do yous grow weed in the greenhouse, or is it just for decor?” he joked, trying to mach his humour.
“Of course not, this is a respectable establishment!” he said in an offended tone, adjusting an invisible tie around his neck “We only grow tobacco here, and some poppies and mushrooms. Sometimes to eliminate the competition, you need variety in your stock, you feel me?” he said, imitating a NewYorkish mafia goon.
“Yeah…” he snickered. Yeah, that guy was all kinds of weird and terrifying, but he knew how to make someone kinda laugh. His heart seemed to be in the right place at least.
“I’m kidding~ But I can tell you where to get a joint or two if you feel like taking the edge off. I don’t recommend it, though. No matter how much you smoke, eventually, the smoke will be gone, and you’ll have to see the real world again. But now you also have to deal with a crazy addiction on top of pile of shit you call a life. It’s pointless…” Daniel said, putting a hand behind his back and slouching like an old man.
“Ok...” The atmosphere went dark all of a sudden “Are you-”
“Next, the library!” He interrupted, pointing in what Max assumed was the direction of the library, with a hand on his hip and fire in his voice.
Yep, that guy was all kinds of weird indeed...

And there's nothing wrong with that.
