Elisa heated some water in the microwave and put some chamomile tea and honey in the cup.

She blew on it for five minutes straight, but despite her best efforts, the teen ended up burning her tongue, anyway.

“Burned your tongue?” Maria asked, walking into the kitchen.

“Yes…”

“Why don’t just mix some cold water with your tea before drinking it?” She took a bowl out of the cupboard and filled it with cereal and milk.

“It has to be warm.”

“Ok, suffer then.” The girl placed the bowl in the microwave and set it for 1 minute.

“Hey, no pain, no gain. Or in your case, no pain, no loss.” She provoked back, pointing to the girl’s belly.

“Fuck off…” Maria tugged her shirt down, making sure her rolls were covered.

“Good morning,” Carolina greeted, entering the kitchen in a bathrobe and a towel on her head.

“Good morning,” both girls answered.

Maria took the cereal out of the microwave and sat down at the dinner table.

“Are you going to eat only that?” Carolina asked Elisa.

“I got sloppy today and woke up late…” she chugged the rest of her tea down and placed the mug in the sink. “I’ll eat a granola bar on the way.”

“Ok, call us if you faint from malnourishment on the way,” Maria warned, rolling her eyes.

“Fair point, maybe I’ll eat three instead.”

“You can’t eat and paddle at the same time, it’s dangerous.” She drank the milk from the bowl and put it in the lavatory “I’ll give you a ride.”

“And what will you do for an hour while waiting for me?”

“Stare at the skater boys~”

“Creep.”

“You want the ride or not, nerd?”

“Whatever...” Elisa opened a granola bar and shoved the other two into her pocket.

“Let me just go get myself a little dolled up!” She rushed into her bedroom.

“Well, I better get myself ready for practice,” Carolina said while cracking two eggs in the mixer along with a mix of pre-cut fruit, milk, and protein powder.

“Fuck them up.”

“I would, but the school’s health insurance can only cover so much damage,” she joked.

“Ok, I’m ready, let’s go,” Maria announced, bolting from her room to the front door.

“Bye, Carolina,” Elisa rushed after her sister while wondering how she was planning on peddling with high heels and a tight mini skirt.

“Bye!”
