His Merman.

Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Apr 07, 2020

Chan put a white tang top on along with a pair of shorts and walked to the beach. It wasn't as close as he would've liked it to be, but close enough. He walked along the wet sand, listening to the music that was blasting in one ear through his Air Pods. He walked to some rocks and sat upon on of them.

He smiled slightly, as memories of him and his mother came rushing into his head. But that was interrupted by the familiar sound of splashing coming from around the rock. Chan crept over to see what it was. Chan looked at the creature wide eyed and the creature looked at him the exact same way. "Hyun...jin?" Chan asked. The creature's eyes lit up slightly and a small smile appeared on his pale face. "Chan?" The creature asked, propping himself by his elbows on a rock. "You look different." Hyunjin said, nonchalantly. "I could say the same about you..." Chan said, sitting criss cross apple sauce on the rock next to Hyunjin.

Chan stared at the magnificent tail that draped along the rock, he noticed the small mint green specks across Hyunjin's neck and shoulder's. "But you look good." Chan said. Hyunjin looked at him with a slight smile. "You too..." Hyunjin said, jumping off the rock and swimming away. "Hyunjin!" Chan yelled as he dived into the water and swam at full speed. He could see Hyunjin's mint green tail ahead of him but that soon faded. Chan swam back to the rocks out of breath.

Chan laid in his bed that night with a million thoughts flowing through his head. He couldn't stop thinking about the merman, nor did he want to stop thinking about him. Chan sat up in bed and stared at the wall. "Don't go back, don't go back, don't go back, don't you dare." Chan chanted over and over again. But it was no use, he was already walking on the warm sand and stared at the dazzling moonlight.

He sat on the same rock he did earlier. He sat there for fifteen minutes when he felt a huge splash of water in his face. The splash was too big to be a natural wave. Chan scrunched up his nose and wiped his eyes of any salt water. Chan heard the cutest laugh right underneath him. He looked down and saw a familiar mint green creature. "What was that for?" Chan asked, brushing his fingers through his now, soaked hair.

"You look good when your hair is wet." Hyunjin replied.
