"Don't some people, hunt mermaids or some thing?" "Hm, yeah, but that was a long time ago, like before I was born time ago." "How old are you then?" "20, my birthday is March 20th, you?" "22, my birthday is October 3rd." Chan answered.
Hyunjin nodded. "So you got any friends?" Hyunjin asked. "Yeah, I've got a few, but they're more of coworkers than friends, I've got this one great friend though, his names, Changbin, you've got any friends?"
"Yeah, their names are, Felix, Jisung, and Jeongin, my father doesn't really let me hang out with anyone." "Yet he lets you swim near humans?" Chan asked.
"What he doesn't know can't hurt him, he doesn't want anything to happen to the 'next king'." Hyunjin said, rolling his eyes. "King? Hold up, you're a prince?" "Um, yeah." "So I'm talking to the male version of Ariel." Chan said jokingly.
"Ariel? Who's Ariel?" Hyunjin asked, genuinely confused. "It's a movie bout mermaids." Chan said. "They make movies about mermaids?! Mermen are just as important!" Hyunjin screeched. "Well it was based on a mermaid named Ariel, there was a merman in it." Chan said. "They better make one about mermen." Hyunjin mumbled making Chan chuckle.
The pair sat on the rocks for hours, talking about nonsense things. "I need to go." Chan said. Hyunjin looked at him sadly. "I'll be back, maybe not tomorrow but I promise I'll be back." Chan said with a dimple smile. Hyunjin gave him an eye smile showing his perfect teeth. "See you soon then." Hyunjin said, diving into the water and swimming away.
Chan watched as the moon light glowed onto Hyunjin's mint green tail and made it shimmer. He may have only seen him three times, but to Chan, it was like he was staring at him forever.
