I woke up around 9 a.m. I took my camera, some food in a backpack and a bike from the shed. I rode through the town for around 20 minutes. The forest was a little far from town. When I came there, I locked up my bike and took out my camera.
I walked down a small path and occasionally stopped to take a picture of a flower, a squirrel or a bird. The trees here were all tall and healthy, it looked like they've been here for hundreds of years and nothing has happened to them.
I came to a little meadow and saw a butterfly with blue wings. I bent down on my knee and took a picture. The butterfly flew up and left. I looked that way and couldn't believe my eyes. I saw a wolf with light grey fur and golden eyes.
It didn't seem scared of me, but it didn't look like it wanted to attack me, either. It approached me and looked at my hand. I crouched, faced it and reached out to it. It sniffed my fingers and licked them. I pet it on the head.
"You're friendly little fella, aren't you."
It turned around, walked a few steps away and looked at me. I stood up and walked towards it. It started running and I followed it. Something was telling me to do it.
We came to a small lair with the rest of the wolfpack. The wolf walked straight towards them, I kept my distance. It walked into a small stone cave. I stood on my spot with the pack staring at me. Most of them were grey, black and white and they had blue, silver or golden eyes. A few pups were playing around me. One of them started humping my leg, so I crouched and started petting and tickling it.
I suddenly heard a bark. I looked up and... there they were. The wolf that brought me here and a white wolf with red eyes. The whole pack gathered around them, except they left a little path between me and them. The white wolf started to approach me and so did I. When there was just abound a meter between us, I bent down on my knees and touched its head.
Suddenly, a really bright light appeared and I had to look away. Then, I heard a soft voice:
"Don't be afraid, you can look at me."
I looked at them and saw the girl from the folktale. Long white wavy hair, big red eyes, pale skin, and soft facial features. I remained silent for a moment.
"Y-You're..."
"I'm?"
"A girl from a folktale..."
"A folktale, huh? So people still know about me."
"I'm not too sure about that. I only read about it yesterday, nobody told me that tale before."
"They're probably trying to forget. Who wouldn't want to forget about the demon."
She was silent for a little while. I couldn't take my eyes off her. She was the most beautiful person I've ever seen. I took a deep breath and said:
"You're no demon. People are just... afraid of things they don't know, that's why they call you names because they don't know you. The real you..."
She smiled at me.
"Thank you for telling me that, but are you sure you're not the only one who thinks that?"
"Of course! People changed, don't worry."
We both stood up. I asked:
"So, will you come back to the town, now that you're human again?"
"Um... not yet. I want the pack to get used to this form. I still want to be with them, they're my family after all."
"Of course. Then I'll just... come visit you until you'll think you're ready, okay?"
"I agree with that."
"Well, I should get going, my mum's gonna be worried."
"Farewell, then."
I turned to leave when I realized something. I looked at her again, but she going to her cave already. I shouted:
"Hey!"
She turned around.
"What's your name?!"
"I'm Ánná, what's yours?"
"Bethany, but you can call me Beth. I'll see you tomorrow, alright? Bye then!" and I ran off.
