Stephan was my ideal type.
He was tall, had a good build, a good sense of fashion and most of all a good heart. The most exciting thing about him was that he was still single.
Stephan had a girlfriend in the past but they broke up a year ago because she went abroad for her studies.
You might be wondering how I know that. Well, the thing is I spent a lot of time during the last year stalking Stephans social media. I know everything there is to know about him. His favorite food, his favorite places to eat and even the brand of shampoo his uses. It might sound creepy but trust me in order to win him over these little bits of knowledge are necessary.
"Pens down. Please stay seated and I will collect your answer sheets" Professor Trent said.
This was it the moment I had been waiting for. Once everyone had handed in there answer sheets. I and Stephan carried the boxes out of the class and followed Professor Trent to his office.
I and Stephan walked side by side and it made me feel so weak in the knees. I had never been this close to him before.
Just as I was about to speak and make conversation with him, Professor Trent began to Talk.
"Stephan, will you be playing for the soccer team this year too?"
"Yes I actually plan on playing this year too"
And so it began, the long boring conversation on sports. It continued all the way down the hall, up the elevator to the 6th floor and then all the way to Professor Trent's office.
"Thank you so much again," Professor Trent said as we put the boxes down. We both said our goodbyes to the Professor and then walked side by side down the corridor.
It was awkward and awfully quiet. I thought Stephan would say something to me but when we reached the elevator I knew I had to take matters into my own hands.
"Professor Trent is really good, I always enjoy his classes," I said loudly
"I think so too. I had a class with him last semester and I really liked the way he laid things down."
Stephan and I walked into the elevator I had about 6 floors worth of conversation with him so I had to make it count. I was definitely shy and nervous but I had to it at all costs.
"I'm sure you already know but my name is Stacey Kiran."
"Nice to meet you although I had no idea who you were until just now"
I felt a little embarrassed but I smiled it away. It didn't make sense that Stephan didn't know who I was.
"My name is Stephan Abraham," he said
I smiled nervously again. We were on the first floor now and the doors where opening. I had to take my chance
"Could I have your number?"
I could feel my whole body shake when I said that. I felt embarrassed to be asking for a guy's number. In the past, any guy who met me always asked for my number whether they liked me or not.
"Why?" Stephan asked
"Well I heard you're in the school's volunteer team and I wanted to join so I was hoping you could help me" I lied
"That's great to hear! The club has actually been looking for new members"
"Really?"
"Yeah, Hand me your phone," Stephan said.
I gave Stephan my phone and he put his number in.
"Call anytime you want"
"Thankyou"
Stephan smiled and walked away and I stood there frozen.
"Now to save his number. Let's save it as..."
