"And that is the story of how the world was created." Crystal said
All the children looked around, their eyes were wide open and some of their mouths were left hanging.
"So did the two really save the world?" one child asked
"No silly, they made the world." she replied
Suddenly, the bell rang and all the children instantly got up and ran to their bags.
"Okay kids, class is over." Crystal said
The door opened and all the kids rushed out. Smiling, Crystal slowly packed her things. Looking down, one of the books in her bag was titled "Modern Genesis: The Story of Recreation". And its author was no one other than her.
It served as her memory, her diary. It was the only remnant of the forgotten years of human history. Nobody knew what happened in those long forgotten years, and their only evidence was the book Crystal wrote.
It was highly criticized. It may have been faked, forged, a story made out of complete imagination, about a world of magic and battles. But Crystal knew deep inside that her memories are not false. She knew well that everything written down did happen. And her basis of that is her hidden ability.
She closed her palm, and opened it. A blade appeared in her hand.
"Reminiscing again?" asked a voice from the doorway.
Startled, she dropped the blade to the floor, making it vanish instantly.
"Careful, you might not want an explosion here." said Jane, who was waiting for Crystal in the doorway.
"Don't scare me like that." Crystal said.
Both let out a little laugh.
"So, coffee?" asked Jane
"Sure, why not?" Crystal replied
They got into Jane's car and drove off to their favorite coffee place. The music played calmly on the radio, and all seemed well. The sun shined brightly, the streets were filled with activities, and life seemed to thrive wherever they looked.
"It actually worked huh." Crystal said.
"I didn't expect it to. But somehow, those two really managed to fix the world" Jane said.
"It's pretty amazing if you think about it. Those two, whose powers seemed so distant from each other, actually managed to come together at the end of it all." Crystal said
"It's pretty sad though. We may never get to see them again." Jane said
"Yeah. I miss those two. Now that the world is back, I remember all our memories from before. How I wish those memories would return as moments of happiness. How I wish that I could see them again." Crystal said, as tears began forming in her eyes.
"Oh come on now, this is no time to cry." Jane said, offering Crystal a handkerchief for her tears.
They arrived at the coffee place, downtown of the city. It was a small cafe with a magnificent view. It was their favorite because the coffee there always tasted great.
They entered the building and headed straight to the cashier.
"Would you want to try today's special coffee?" the cashier asked
"What's the flavor?" Jane asked
"Creation and Destruction. To celebrate the World Recreation Day!" the Cashier replied
Crystal couldn't hold back her tears and dropped to the ground.
Jane picked her up and apologized to the cashier.
"Sorry, World Recreation Day means so much for her." she said
"We'll take it." a voice said from behind
Crystal immediately stopped crying. It was a familiar voice. There could be nobody else with a voice that smooth, a voice that commanding. It was as if the world could move itself once it heard that voice.
She hesitated to look up, but was determined to at the same time. Her eyes fixated upon the two men behind them.
"Jerome, Nicholas!"
A brief silence followed.
"Welcome home." she continued
