The morning came quickly, and Green woke up, realizing he had no idea how he ended up falling asleep.
He was in Yellow's bed, although Yellow wasn't there. Green turned around on his back, and groaned. His head hurt a bit and his throat was sore. He at least hoped Yellow felt better.
He had tried his best last night to calm him down. "One day, I'll be able to heal your mind too…" he mumbled, then got up.
He was greeted by a Yellow doing pushups on the floor. Now it made sense he didn't see him earlier.
"G-good morning…" Green stuttered, hopping to his suitcase and getting a few clothes from it.
Yellow stayed silent and kept working out, and so Green sighed and hopped to the bathroom. Seems he didn't really want to talk about it, huh.
Well, it wasn't too surprising. Yellow had always been a bit reserved when it came to his emotions. Yesterday was the most Green had ever seen of him opening up, and that was most definitely an exclusive, rare, one-time thing, because he was very sure Yellow would never dare to talk about how he felt like that, let alone cry in front of him.
When Green was done dressing up, he hopped back to his suitcase, pajamas in hand.
But at the last moment, his foot hit a bump in the carpet, and he fell down-
And was quickly caught by Yellow.
He looked a bit sweaty, and he was panting. He probably stopped working out to catch him. "Jesus dude, good thing I looked over at the right time." Yellow exclaimed. Green chuckled nervously, happy to have avoided another injury, and pulled himself up, leaning against Yellow's arms to walk to his bed.
"We have got to do something with your ankle, dude." Yellow sighed, wiping the sweat off his forehead with his shirt.
He looked around, stroking his chin with his thumb. "Hmm…"
He turned to his suitcase, and started rummaging through it. He got a few clothes and other items, and walked back to Green, crouching down and lifting his foot up. Green winced, and looked away. "Ouch." He mumbled.
"S-sorry, it'll only be a moment…" stuttered Yellow, his movements getting a bit softer.
He carefully wrapped the clothes around his ankle and foot, with the precision of someone who knew exactly what he was doing. Green looked at him work, mesmerized, and, probably noticing he was being stared at, Yellow chuckled. "Before football practice, we sometimes had classes learning how to take care of injuries with what we had while waiting for the medics to arrive. Broken legs and ankles are common in football, so we learned mostly that."
He smiled to himself, admiring his work. "I'm glad I learned it. Didn't think I'd ever need to use it, though I guess I was wrong, heh."
He stood back up, and took Green's hand.
"Okay, try standing up now."
Slowly, Green stood up and he placed his foot down. It wasn't as painful anymore, although he assumed he shouldn't use that foot too much, it was better than before.
He smiled, and giggled. "Oh jeez, thanks Yellow."
"You'll still have to hold on to me or Black though, it ain't like you're just fully healed." Yellow added, gently grabbing Green's arm, who was starting to wobble as he was losing his balance. "Oh, yeah. Still, I'm happy you did that."
He cleared his throat, and sighed, as they both walked to their bags, getting ready to leave. "If you don't mind, I'd like to learn how you did it! It could be really helpful!" Green said happily. Yellow smiled, and pat Green's head. "Sure tiny, I'll show you when we get the time."
As they were about to walk through the door, Yellow stopped, and turned to Green.
"By the way. Don't tell Black what happened last night." He suddenly said, his tone serious.
"Oh. Why?" Green asked.
Yellowed groaned. "B-because- y'know! He shouldn't have to know!"
Green sighed "Alright, sure, I won't tell him."
He looked down for a second, and then back up. "B-but… I do hope you'll trust me enough to open up to me more, one day." Green said quietly.
Yellow was about to say something, but was interrupted by Black arriving behind them.
"What don't you want me to know?" He asked, a bit irritated.
Yellow and Green both turned to him, and Yellow laughed nervously. "Haha, w-well-"
"Yellow forgot something at his house." Green interrupted him. He knew this man was bad at lying, better he do it himself.
Black sighed, and walked past them, to the door. "Well, too bad, we can't go back."
Yellow huffed, relieved, and they both followed Black. He pointed at a diner, right in front of the motel.
"We'll go eat there, and then I'll try to make a map of all the possible places where Red could be." He turned to Green. "And by I, I mean Green. Because I'm not very good at that."
Green chuckled sadly. "Oh, of course."
Black stuck out his tongue mockingly. "Then, once we're done, we'll leave as soon as we can, alright?"
They both nodded, and walked into the diner, finding a place to sit down at and ordering food.
As they were waiting, Black pulled out a few maps, and some pens, from his bag, and slid them to Green.
"She's in the city. At least that's where the cops are searching. You'd have to try to remember her thought pattern and… yknow. Find her."
"Yeah, I got it."
Green grabbed the pens and started to work, Yellow hunched over his shoulder and watching him.
While that was happening, Black decided to look around the place, get himself something to do while he was waiting. There wasn't much happening at the diner right now. Not that it was empty, but simply just that nothing out of the ordinary was happening. There was a guy eating an enormous amount of pancakes, two girls slurping on their smoothies at another table, and another guy asleep on his plate, snoring quite loudly.
A bug flew past Black's eyes, and he decided to follow it with his gaze. Yes, he was that bored.
The fly landed on the door of the women's restroom, slowly walking over the worn down sign, before it flew away, as the door opened and a small, old woman came out of it. She was walking rather slowly, an umbrella serving as a cane in her left hand. Her gaze turned to Black, and he quickly looked elsewhere. Wouldn't want someone thinking he was eyeing her or whatever. He was a lot of things, but a creep wasn't one of them.
He turned his attention back to Green. He had a pen his his mouth, chewing the plastic end as he was staring at the map, brows furrowed in concentration. Yellow was falling asleep next to him, nodding off every now and then, although it was obvious he was trying his best to stay awake.
A touch to Black's shoulder made him jump, and he turned around. It was the old lady from earlier.
"May I sit down?" She asked.
Green looked up from his map, and nudged Yellow, who, startled, made a weird snorting noise and straightness up his back in the bench he was starting to slide off of.
"Sure…" Black mumbled, scooting over so she could sit next to him.
"I see the little lady isn't with you, huh?" The old woman said, chuckling. "Though you would've found her by now.."
Green's eyes widened, and he opened his mouth, about to say something, although Yellow cut him.
"How… how did you know?" He stuttered.
The old lady smiled. "Oh, well, that's right, you don't know me. I apologize for that." She cleared her throat. "My name is White. I'm the one who gave you your stone, Green."
She smiled softly. "Did you like the flowers?"
Green only stared at her, starstruck.
White turned to Black, and grabbed something from her pockets. "I have something for you and Yellow. Although, please, only open these boxes once you're out of sight." She gave both of them a small ring box, with a colored bow on both, one black and one yellow.
"D-do you know where Red is?"
White chuckled sadly. "Not exactly. I haven't been able to keep track of her as much as I used to. I guess it's the transfer of powers." She then smiled. "Although, Green, you're searching in the right area. She's around this district. And I don't think she'll be leaving for a few days." Green looked at his map, shocked, and circled a few areas, and the woman giggled.
Everything this woman was saying and doing seemed so odd. Why did it feel like she knew them?
And then, that's when Black realized that she didn't have a Changer.
"Y-you don't have a-"
The old woman laughed. "Oh, goodness no. You probably already know why, I don't need to tell you again."
White then got up, and stretched. "I've said all that I could." She turned to Yellow. "And you. I put a note in your box. I hope you read it, it's from my husband." She then smiled, and walked away, leaving the three men dumbstruck and confused.
After a few seconds, Green closed his pen, and looked at his map. "Well, I think it wouldn't hurt to take a look to where the lady told us to go!"
Yellow smiled and nodded. And Black groaned. This lady was weird, but at the same time… there was something about her…
"Alright. Let's eat, and then we'll leave."
And as soon as the food came, they ate, then went back to the car, and drove off to where the strange lady had tipped them.
