Following the girls was not easy by any means since we had to make sure they didn't know they were being followed. A couple times Alvin had to pull Mariah and I behind a tree whenever one of them looked back behind them. We almost had a close call after Mariah tripped over a tree branch but luckily they were too far away to hear us.

Eventually the five of them stopped in a circular clearing used for campfires while Alvin hid behind a nearby tree while Mariah and I peeked through a bush.

The glowing girl pointed her hand toward the fire pit and we watched as the glowing light traveled up her body and out of her hand lighting the pit in purple flames.

They sat there for a moment, annoyed expressions on their faces making it pretty obvious they didnt wanna be there until 5 guys wearing varsity jackets.

Two of their jackets indicated they were on the football team were as the other three were from cheerleading, band, and soccer. The one thing that was obvious was that if they were meeting the girls and also on the varsity teams then they were definitely a part of the Terran program.

The only question is why were they all meeting here?

Upon their arrival Gianna stood up and scoffed at the boys. “Tristan why are you all late?”The boy wearing the cheerleading jacket stepped forward with a sigh. “These two idiots were too busy making out at the party.”Tristan points to the two boys in football jackets who both start blushing madly before looking away.

“Either way..” The glowing girl cut in. “You know that he doesn't like tardiness.” She smirked “ You two are gonna be in so much trouble.”

“Y-you dont know for sure!” one of the football yelled with fake courage as the boys filled the other spots around the campfire.

“Well I guess we'll just have to wait and see.”Gianna shrugged before looking towards Tristan again.

“Call him.”

With that Tristan's hands started to glow charcoal black as the air seemed to ripple in front of the fire. Then out of nowhere the shadows around the trees began to move on their own as he pulled them towards him and swirled in a circle on the ground in front of the group.

I looked to Alvin and Mariah and saw that they were just as amazed as I was as we watched Mr.Jameson arise from the ground as it disappeared once he was fully through.The shadows returned to their original positions as the teens all got up from there seats and saluted the man before he waved his hands for them to sit back down.

Giannas eyes began to glow a dark green as she waved her hands and fashioned a throne for the man made out of vines and rose petals.

The man sat down with an annoyed expression as the rest of them all looked forward completely monotone as he eyed each of them individually.

“So..” He bagan “Does anyone wish to explain to me why this meeting is starting 10 minutes late?”

The two boys shuddered as the glowing girl quickly pointed her finger at the two of them, the grin on her face getting wider.

“Thank you Cindy.” Mr. Jameson replied as he looked at the two of them as they cowered among his strong gaze. “Mathew, Kevin I expected more from you.” Jameson shook his head in disappointment before looking at the boy wearing the band jacket. “Ten rounds should be enough.

The boy simply nodded before clenching his fist, and somehow as he did so the two boys known as Mathew and Kevin slammed their faces into each other simultaneously. Mariah placed her hands over her mouth to contain her gasp while Alvin looked away the boy continued to clench his fist while causing the two boys to slam their heads together.

It seems the other terrans couldn't stomach the scene either as many of them looked away. The only ones still watching were Tristan, Gianna , and Cindy. Cindy looked delighted by the scene whereas Tristan and Gianna simply looked bored.

Jameson looked all to satisfied as he settled back into the chair .

After the boys had slammed their heads together ten times they both suddenly stopped as the band kid held his hand in the air as if he was holding them in place.

“Thank you Richie you can let them go.”

With that Kevin and Mathew both fell to the floor with loud thuds. Kevin had actually begun to silently cry while Mathew was wiping the blood off of his forehead.

They both slowly got back up and settled back into their seats before looking back to Jameson with apologetic expressions.

“Were sorry sir.” They said in unison before turning their attention back to the fire without another word.

The fact that they felt the need to apologize after being punished like that made me sick to my stomach especially when Jameson seemed to revel in the response.

“That's quite alright children.Next you’ll remember to be on time.” Jameson suddenly clapped his hands together loudly grabbing the attention of everyone. “Now, Kayla, Reese how many of the special ed students will be joining us this year”

The boy wearing the soccer jacket and the girl that had been sitting next to Cindy, both got up from their seats and looked towards the man.After taking a closer look i noticed that Kayla and Reese both looked similar in appearance leading me to believe they were twins.

“In my class there were 6 in total and 3 of them just started attending the school.” Kayla explained before sitting back down.

“In mine there are 8 and only 1 of them is new.” Reese added before sitting back down as well.

“He's in my special ed class.”Mariah whispered to me as we continued to watch the scene as the gears in my head began to turn.

After giving it some thought I realized that this Kayla girl is in my special ed class meaning that however she and her brother use their powers, she probably already knew my secret.

“Very good you two.”Jameson replied as the pair smiled all too proud of themselves. “Next semester they will all join us soon enough.”

“So were just letting them all in now?”Gianna cut in “ I thought we only took the best.”

I braced myself for Gianna to be reprimanded by the man, but instead he looked to her with a smile so I assumed she was the favorite amongst the 10.

“Your very right about that, and as of right now we are still upholding those principles however..” Jameson began. “ A group of these students have caught my interest, and I am very pleased to say.. That my stars have returned.”

Suddenly all of their heads shot up in either fear, disbelief, or excitement the main one being Cindy who was excited.

“He's finally here!?” She exclaimed with a laugh. “That means one of us is gonna lose our title right?

“Unfortunately for you all yes.” Jameson shrugged as a matter of fact. “ I haven't decided who we will be saying goodbye to so I hope that you’ll be on your best behavior so that my decision won't be biased.

Aside from Cindy, the others looked nervous whereas Gianna and Tristan looked annoyed beyond belief.I guess they were at the top amongst the 10 so they had no reason to be worried.

“So who is it then?” Tristan asked as he folded his arms.

Jameson looked towards Tristan, his smile not leaving his face.

“Gianna has already met him.”

I felt my blood run cold as Mariah and Alvin both looked at me knowingly.

Meanwhile Gianna was furious.

“Hell no!” She got up from her seat instantly as vines coiled around her legs in anger. “You can’t honestly be considering-”

“I can and I will.” Jameson said cooly while silencing her with a look

“As of right now my prey is Jaden Giles.”

Before my fear even had time to register itself Alvin's phone began to vibrate loudly alerting all of them of our presence as they turned to look in our direction.

“I see 3 bodies.” Kayla replied as she shot up from her seat.

“Kevin, Mathew..” Jameson began in a seemingly calm tone. “Kill them.”

We sat paralyzed in fear as Mathew crouched on all fours transforming into a massive lion while electricity began to spark between his fingertips.

I didn't need to see any more as I grabbed Mariah and Alvin and ran in the opposite direction.

I can honestly guarantee that I had never run that fast in my life before today. I was 100% certain that I was being fueled by adrenaline as I continued to run as far away from the scene as possible.

Alvin seemed to be fueled by it as well as he practically dragged Mariah and I along with him.

“Did that just happen? Did that really just happen!?”Mariah gasped as she struggled to keep up with Alvin's fast pace.

“Jaden what the hell does this guy want with you!?” Alvin added as we continued to run almost making it back to the road.

It took everything in me just to not fall over as we ran so I could barely form in answer,nor did I want to.

As we almost made it to the road we were suddenly cut off as thick vines and brambles arose from the ground right in front of us forcing us to stop in our tracks.

As Alvin tried to rip through it to no luck I quickly turned around and saw they hadn't caught up to us yet, meaning Gianna had no idea whether or not we'd already made it out, but she was gonna make sure we couldn't go anywhere.

“What the hell do we do now!?” Alvin as he and Mariah continued to try and pull the vines apart.

No matter how much I thought, I couldn't think of a single solution that didn't involve me revealing myself. As I looked back at my new friends, the looks of fear clear on their faces I could feel myself getting angrier that they were in danger because of me.

Suddenly a bright light illuminated the trees around as my hands began to glow a violent blood orange. I could feel the heat radiating off of my hands and instantly had an idea.

I began to rub my hands together faster, and faster , and faster, building up friction and causing the air around me to get even warmer. Eventually Alvin and Mariah had to back as as my arms burst into flames.

“Holy shit!” Alvin yelled at the top of his lungs while Mariah stared at me in disbelief.

Before I could explain anything a loud roar in the distance warned me that they were getting close so I had to act fast .

I ran back into the woods touching a few trees as I ran so that they would burst into flames and hopefully help us escape. Before I knew it, as I circled back to the others I saw that I had started a considerably large forest fire.

Trees began to topple behind me blocking the path I came from and hopefully blocking those two from chasing us.

“Get out of the way!” I bellowed as I ran straight for the vine at full speed. Using the last bit of my energy, I willed the fire to come forward even more until my entire body was covered in flames.

With my built up speed I ran straight through the vines with Mariah and Alvin in tow as the fire spread quickly engulfing the vines in orange flames.

I barrel rolled to the ground as the flames on my body slowly disappeared as I looked back at the others.

“Lets go!”

With that we ran down the street and back to Mariah's car as the flames danced in the night sky behind us.

When we got back to the car Alvin checked his phone and saw that Alexis sent him a text saying that she and the others had all found a way back home so without a word we got in Mariah's car and she drove us home.

We drove in silence, all of us in too much shock to speak. I fumbled with the newly made holes in my clothes from wear the flames had reached the surface and before I knew it, we had made it back to my neighborhood.

Mariah said goodnight as Alvin and I got out of the park and she drove back home.

Alvin and I looked at each other in silence, both of us wanting to speak but not sure where to start.

I was about to give up and start walking home until suddenly a smile formed on Alvin's face.

“I wanna show you something. Hop on my back.” He suddenly crouched down in front of me so that I would have easy access and with the crazy night I was having I saw no reason to object and carefully climbed onto his back .

I wrapped my arms around his neck while he looped my legs through his arms.Before i could even blink he began running and in 3 seconds we were at the side of my house again.

I blinked several times in confusion meanwhile the smile has not left his face.

“Nice to know you're not alone right?”

I stared at him in disbelief as I tried to register what just happened and then realized that it all made sense.

From what I observed an hour ago Alvin can run fast as hell but we were slowing him down. I was flying through a wave of emotions but unlike the fear I had over seeing the terrans in the clearing with powers, the fact that he did made me oddly happy.

With a loss for words, I wrapped him in a hug and let out a happy cry as he hugged me in return.I didnt wanna move. I'd have rather stayed there even longer,but it was getting late and we both had school the next day.

With one last goodbye Alvin hoisted me up to my window which I was happy to see was still open and I immediately collapsed on my bed.

I wasn't alone.

My friend had powers.

A good portion of my student body had powers just as strong as mine.

And the guy at the center of it all wanted me to join his crew.

I stayed awake that night too restless to go to sleep in fear that when I opened my eyes again, he would be there waiting.
