It has been two weeks since Marc' had been able to change into his wolf form. It had been one week since he had heard anything else from Iohanna leaving him clueless as to where she could be or if she was even alive. With all his uncertainty he decided to head back to her Uncles town to see if any news had arrived about where she was and how she is doing. When he had made it to the town, he put in a request to spear to Niccolo, but days kept passing by without a summon. He spent his time in the training grounds keeping his body active and his mind focused. If he let his mind wonder too far, he would find himself falling into despair, so he kept himself agonizingly busy until he couldn't keep awake. Marc' repeated this cycle waiting for his summon he slept, ate, and trained.
"Marcellus." Niccolo waved at the brutish man. He had just knocked one of his best men to the ground holding a knife to his throat. They often trained with dull weapons to give them a sense of reality in fighting. Marc' had tossed the knife sticking it into the ground before he approached him. He had sweat beading off his chest and his hair was damp from his exertion.
"Niccolo." Marc' had to look down at the man as he stood roughly six inches shorter than him. He never spoke disrespectfully to him knowing the power he carried, but he also didn't give him the opportunity to treat him as less than an equal.
"Come, walk with me." Niccolo led him away from prying ears. "I would like to know exactly how you lost sight of my little niece."
"Sir, honestly I still have no idea what is going on. The man greeted her like he has known her all her life." Marc' dragged his hand through his sweaty hair pulling into a high ponytail to keep it out of his face. "I came here as soon as I could to figure out what the hell had happened."
"Marcellus, new information about Iohanna has changed things considerably. You have a strength that is very hard to find in a person, so I was hoping you would join my two most trusted employees to bring her back to me."
"You want me to look for her?" Marc' took a moment to think about it after Niccolo had nodded his head. That would mean she was alive, and somehow escaped the man that held her. "Under one condition."
Niccolo smiled, "Name it."
"They will listen to me during our search. I will not risk losing her because they can't listen." Marc' turned to face Niccolo looking into his eyes extending his seriousness from his tone.
"I think I can work with that." Niccolo motioned in front of him extending the invitation to the walk back to his home.
"One more thing." Marc' stopped Niccolo from saying anything else.
"What else?" Niccolo looked at him with interest as they walked.
"In the event it happens, I am the one who gets to kill Pierce." Niccolo smiled at him as if he was pleased to hear those words.
"That's quite a request." Niccolo knew he couldn't kill an old friend of his or give the order to, but the betrayal had cut the ties for him. This betrayal had allowed him to clear up loose ends through manipulation and keep some of the things in the past to never surface while leaving him an out to persecute the one who would end up killing his dear friend. The fact was if Pierce was taken out there would be a huge weight lifted off his shoulders. "May I ask why you want to kill an old friend of mine."
"Our missions have been derailed, him and his men have caused harm against me and someone I was supposed to protect, and I don't take kindly to those who takes advantage of a woman." Marc' wasn't about to tell him the full reason behind his hatred. He could sense that he had been holding out on a few things from him as well.
"A man of honor." Niccolo nodded at him, "if there comes a time where it is necessary, I will see to looking for your services. That is a strong if though, he is like a brother to me Marcellus." Marc' nodded to him accepting his answer. Niccolo then realized that there were things about this mission that would have to remain a secret from the brute, and that his sense of authority would only be for show. "Good, now let me introduce you to the team."
Marc' stood in front of two well-built women. One stood two feet shorter than him and had been kissed by the gods with voluptuous curves and light spots all over her skin. She stood pushing her breasts together and looked more interested in her looks than her surroundings. The other was closer to his height with a stocky build. She didn't take her appearance into considerations as blood splatter had dried onto her clothes. She looked like she would be a decent sparring partner to pass the time with, sharpening their skills. She carried a long sword on her back and had many throwing knifes strategically tucked into her clothes. She was a darker skinned woman who would be able to hide wonderfully in the dead of night. Marc' smiled pleased with one of Niccolo's selection.
"I get her but, I think we need to rethink this one." He pointed to Gara.
Niccolo waved Gara over to him. She sauntered her way towards him it didn't take him long to feel the presence of magic flowing from her. She was a seductress! He slowly felt the pull get stronger the longer she danced towards him. Soon she was pulling him down to her level brushing her lips across his before he felt a strong kick inside him causing him to push her away.
"Impressive, not many can resist her charms." Niccolo brushed her cheek with the back of his hand. "I think she will be quite useful on your journey."
Marc' straightened and cleared his throat. "Alright, we will leave at sunrise." With a nod of agreement from everyone they dispersed off to their own quarters.
