I spoke to no one but myself so I jumped when I heard a soft male voice reply.

    “ That beast was not from this land so it had been challenging everything to see what was a threat.” he was a beautiful man. Short silver hair that brushed his sharp cheeks. Fluffy white wolf ears atop his head. A lycon? This explained why I hadn't heard him approach. His piercing purple eyes held mine as I took him in. He wore tight black clothing that showed off his toned figure. A swift white tail with black tip twitched.

    “ I see. Fortunately for it, it didn't run into you and your pack.” I said with as much confidence I could. ‘ FUCK! I didn't know lycans were out here. Am I in their territory?’ I thought. My weight shifted to a defensive stance subconsciously.

    “ Don’t worry, you are not in our territory. But you are close to it, “ he said as if he had read my thoughts. His footsteps were so quiet as he strode to the boar's head. His long fingers with sharp black nails slid down the hanging tusk making a soft scratching sound.

He smirked at my sigh of relief over his shoulder.

    “ Tell me your name, hunter.” His silk voice trailed up my skin as if his very breath was whispering onto me.

    “ Gil, if you are to call me.” my voice rumbled in my chest.

He gave me a weary side eye.

    “ My name is far too long. That is what I go by.” I said meekly. But it was true.

Slightly annoyed he turned away from my direction. His tail swaying this way and that.

    “ Fine then, Gil. I thank you for taking care of this thing before it was able to do any real harm.” he placed his hand on his hip, gesturing at the body of the boar.

    “ It was starting to try and tread into our territory, but you saved us the hassle of getting our hands dirty.”

    “ You’re welcome?” I said lifting a confused brow. Then looking down.

    “ But I was actually told by the village to slay it so I feel undeserving of your praise.“ Lycans are very highly noble, so giving praise to humans is a very honorable thing.

He turned and I swear I could feel his eyes burning into me.

    “ My you’re humble” he said with a little smirk.
