203 years ago, Earth saw it's greatest natural disaster materialize as a great flood, killing billions and reducing once great & powerful civilizations to sunken wreckage. What remained of society was thrown into utter turmoil, struggling to take back it's bearings. As it goes, nature didn't care, and life continued on.
It took over a century for Earth's societies to return to some sense of normalcy, though lacking it's former technological grandeur and still struggling economically. Most have either become self-reliant, formed small insular communities, or turned to crime which is all but impossible to formally monitor, often relying on vigilante justice in the face of still-limited law enforcement.
Faye is a human living in the two centuries post-flood era with her adoptive Avian family. Due to the still eclectic state of the world, she works eclectic jobs, taking requests, offers, and challenges for mostly anything you can throw at her, as long as it isn't humiliating, and most importantly, as long as it pays.
