Tobi arrives at his shift, on time of course he isn’t a delinquent. The place definitely seems more quiet than usual and it's only a one person shift. He now works alone, no more Athena there to bother him. Is that a blessing or a curse he doesn’t know, he’ll definitely miss her company.
After about a straight hour of working he’s already bored, his manager was right he’s only served three people and they were all too polite to get angry at. College students definitely still needed their coffee. I guess the only thing left to do is go back to scrubbing tables and daydreaming about his career.
He desperately wanted to be a writer, but not some lame author, a script writer. The thought of writing for big companies, like Disney or Dreamworks always made him giddy. His love of hearing people's excitement when they read his short fics, made him want to do the same for thousands of people, it all just sounded amazing. Imagine all the people who would gush at his script writing in movies and video games. But sadly his thoughts were once again cut short by a tap on his shoulder.
“Sorry to bother your very serious cleaning, but do you mind making me a coffee?” Those big and cute recognizable eyes stared back at him with hope of getting his coffee politely, though they seemed more tired than usual.
“Of course anything for my favorite princess” he smiled down at him before walking towards the counter.
“Oh so you have other princesses” Andrew retorted, surprising Tobi, he'd never teased back before.
“What! Of course not there's only you, now what does my only princess want to drink?” Andrew giggled at this comment once again shocking Tobi.
“Hmmmm a small white coffee is fine, uh could you add caramel too it as well please”
“Sure thing”
Andrew seemed so different late at night and he couldn’t tell if they were finally getting closer or if he was sleep deprived. He definitely liked it though, he could listen to him giggle all night. If his laugh was so adorable he wondered what other sounds this guy could make, especially late at night.
“So you do the night shift now” he interrupted his dirty thoughts “did Alex finally get fired for his lack of effort”
“Nah I don’t know about him, the manager said threatening her day customers with paper straws just wasn’t gonna cut it” this got Andrew giggling again god he loved it.
“Did you really threaten people I didn't expect that from you” Andrew laughed on
“Yeah a few times,” he dismissed “but what is it that you expected of me”
“I thought you just flirted with all your customers, or scared people away with your evil glare” Tobi snorted at that.
“You're kinda right with the glare thing but I would never flirt with someone who wasn’t my princess” he leaned in while handing Andrew his coffee “Was the thought of that making you jealous”
“Nope,” Andrew teased, grabbing his coffee and walking away to go sit in the lounge, he then pulled a laptop out of his bag and began typing.
Tobi leaned back against the counter and started towards the direction of the lounge. That guy was starting to get to him. At first it started as just light teasing, but now he was basically flirting with the guy.
Now he was just over there minding his own business. Not once had anyone stayed during the night, most people taking their coffee to go. But Andrew was still here, typing away at his laptop and taking the occasional sip from his coffee.
You know what, fuck it, it’s not like someone else is gonna come in. Tobi leaped over the counter and walked towards the couch Andrew was sitting on. He wasn’t gonna continue to be bored when his princess was here to distract him.
