As I ran through the woods that were in between my house and my school, I thought. Would I ever see my friends again? Or did I really just abandon them?

I stopped in my tracks. I was about to crash into a tree. I spot something in the bushes. Two eggs, both blue, one dark and one light. Maybe they’re for the hunt? I pick them up and put them in my backpack.

“This isn’t cheating.” I mumble to myself. “It’s just preparing.” Once I’m done stuffing them in my already-full bag, I run off once more.

Right as I finish putting the things I need into my locker, The bell to start school rings. Perfect timing. I Haul my backpack on, and sprint to class. Usually we learn basically nothing. This is going to be a long day.

Finally, it’s lunch time. After lunch we’ll have a school-wide scavenger hunt! And I’m already ahead of the pack. I have two eggs in my locker. Two shades of blue, one dark, one light.

I wait in line to get my lunch. I look ahead of me, only to see my former friends hanging out and laughing. I was never going to go back to them.
