The group waved to me as I walked off. Cassi had given me their cell numbers
so we could stay in contact. Looking around it was very apparent to me that
I stuck out like a sore thumb. There had to be some kind of make-up shop
near here I hoped. As I walked it was nice to see the people of this country.
Everyone was just busy with their lives trying to make a living. It made me
feel happy to just have this breather. When I finally found a store the woman
wouldn’t stop staring at me. She smiled as I paid for a bag full of make-up.
We all knew I hated this stuff but sadly I could use it if needed. My next stop
was a small store that allowed the public to use the restroom. Once in I
dumped the bag of make-up into the sink. This was going to be a pain in the
ass but I needed to blend in with people.
It takes me about half an hour to make the scales disappear. This had to be
one of the longest times I’ve spent in a restroom. When coming out the
owner looked at me weird but didn’t say a word. At this moment I was kind of
grateful to my bitch of a mother. She forced me to learn how to do my make-
up when I was younger even though most of it had been forgotten. The
bustling streets were filled with all sorts of delicious smells. My stomach
started to growl even though I’d eaten on the ship. Letting out a sigh I just
kept walking till reaching a tour group. Everyone looked excited to go on a
safari tour. The tour guide walked over smiling to everyone.
“Okay, everyone if you will please gather up? We shall be leaving shortly.
Remember to not leave the vehicle at any time. If you need anything please
tell your tour guide immediately?”
The guides were all very professional in my opinion.
No one seemed to notice that I wasn’t a paying customer. Who was I to argue
at this moment. One of the young girls grabbed my hand pulling me to sit
next to her. I raised a brow looking at her a little confused. She gave a small
smile then pointed to a guy who was trying to sit next to her.
“My name is Kiki. Sorry about that but as you can see that guy was trying
to force his way to sit with me.”
I guess this would be a good spot to try being a pervert. Letting out a sigh I
look to the man with a smile. He glared at me which had me laugh out loud.
“Seems he doesn’t like me Kiki. My name is Teresa by the way.”
She shook my hand laughing along with me. We got silent as the tour guide
started to talk. Over the next hour we looked to all the animals the guide
pointed out. This was truly a stunning country. After several hours the tour
guide brought us to another city.
“Hey, Kiki I’m going to head out now. It was super nice spending time.”
Kiki had a sad look for a moment then smiled.
“Thank you again for saving me back there. I hope your travels are good.”
I give her a smile back waving while walking away.
The city was a lot more quiet then the last one. As walking my mind drifted to
all the people who I’ve met along this journey. Each person had a special
place in my heart. I wondered if Jacoby had hurt Jerra for pushing me on the
balcony. Either way right now wasn’t the time or place to dwindle on this
subject. It was getting late which meant I needed a place to stay. Kevin had
given me money without anyone knowing, I tried to give it back. One thing I
can say for Kevin is he can be super stubborn at times. Letting out a sign I
check the phone that was given to me for local hotels. There was one a few
more blocks away thankfully. Walking on the streets as night neared made
me feel uneasy. Was it because I had thought of Jacoby or was there
something else?
Further away in the shadows was a man looking to Teresa. He smirked seeing
how uneasy she appeared. Ignoring the feeling I went to the hotel paying for
one night. In the back of my mind no place really felt safe. Who knew when
someone would attack me again. Once in the room I fall back onto the bed.
My mind wanted to go in a million directions. It was nerve wracking to think
I’d have to live like this forever. Closing my eyes I almost wish that instead of
turning into a hybrid that death had taken me. The man who had been
following Teresa sneaks up to her window. He watches as she sleeps then
jumps down.
“Well...well...well...looks like Jacoby would love this information. To bad for
him I can’t stand the vampiric prick.”
He walks in the front door getting the room next to Teresa. In his room he
places a call to a friend.
“Hey this is Jim.”
The person on the other end was an asshole who acted like they didn’t know
him.
“Look you shit head I’m Jim Shifuta. You damn well know who I am. I found
the girl Jacoby is looking for but don’t tell anyone.”
He hangs up the phone laughing to himself.
