What a wonderful start to this date, they've gone ahead and ordered some of the best shakes Tobi’s honestly ever had. They’re sitting together at a nice table, looking over the menu. This burger bar was the best on campus, not only was their food great, they were open nearly 24/7. So on occasion Tobi would grab a bite to eat after his night shift, did he mention they also did to go orders.
He finally gets to hang out with Andrew, doing something together outside of school. But of course something just wasn’t right about it.
“Hey Drew have you been here before, cause there fries are to die for,” oh yeah, that's right Alex is here.
Alex, Andrew’s friend, decided to ignore the obvious date and invite himself to eat lunch with them. Andrew being the nice guy he is couldn’t say no, so here he is crashing the party. They just sat down yet the guy is already getting Tobi’s fucking nerves.
“Um no I haven’t, I don’t go out to eat very often,” Andrew responded, sounding just as annoyed as he is. Could have said no princess.
“Here let me help with the menu, you have to try their buffalo dip or maybe this cheese one if you don’t like spice” Alex went to scoot closer to Andrew as of course, they were sitting on the same side of the table together.
It’s like the guy was doing it on purpose, like he knew this was supposed to be a nice day for just him and his princess and wanted to stop it from happening. But for what reason he couldn’t figure out. He can’t have a thing for Andrew, he’s seen the guy at parties and not once did he ever hit up a guy. He’s also pretty sure the dudes a science major of some sort, so it’s not like they have classes together.
Andrews also obviously is not into him either. He’s using the same voice Tobi uses to deal with bitchy customers, the customer service voice that may seem polite but is laced with annoyance. The dude is either really dense or just doesn’t want to take the hint.
All of it is so fucking unfair! Andrew was supposed to sit next to him in a booth not a table, he’d be the one to recommend stuff off the menu, and they were gonna talk about dumb shit, get to know each other and fall in love. Maybe his original plan was jumping the gun, but he had every right to be upset when this fucker ruined his entire plan to actually flirt with Andrew.
“So Tobi where'd you meet Drew, must of been recently he’s never talked about you before,” the fucker asked with a smirk on his face.
“Oh I work at this coffee shop near the English department, I’m doing the night shift and I help Drew study, and you know revise his work for him” he’s told me about you though, and how you distract him with your lame party stories.
“Yeah Tobi’s super helpful especially when I get writer's block, It’s like he just knows what I'm thinking before I think it,...” Yeah that’s right douche bag I actually help, he thought as Andrew kept ranting about his English skills.
Tobi wasn’t actually the jealous type, but I mean come on he had every right to be. Andrew fueling his ego did bring out his cockiness though. The waiter came by and took their orders, and as they waited for the food they chatted.
“So you do anything other than get drunk at parties” Tobi sassed back.
“Nah that's mainly it, if i'm not out with the guys i’m studying for shit,” he replied “What about you, not like you can party with the lame ass night shift”
This is how the rest of the lunch went with Tobi getting little time to talk to Andrew. What a waist. It was mainly Alex and Tobi asking some questions, trying to one up each other the entire time. He could tell that Andrew hated it and was getting irritated, but he wasn’t going to lose to this frat boy.
Eventually they finished their meals, paid and left. Finally Alex would fuck off.
“Well thanks for letting me join you guys for lunch, we should hang out together more often” No we shouldn’t, Alex then waved to the both of them before jogging off to what seemed to be the Science department.
“God I’m so sorry, he just appeared and I lack the ability to tell people off” Andrew wined with his head in his hands.
“Aww don’t worry about it princess we can go out another time,” he said while rubbing Andrews back, “Next time it’ll be just the two of us” his tone almost sounding suggestive.
“Yeah alright”, Andrew responded while pulling out his phone, only for him to gasp at the time “Sorry to just ditch you but I have a class to get to.”
“That’s cool I’ll walk with you, I’ve gotta meet up with a friend so we can get a lame project done anyway” Austin better not be late.
What a lame first date, if you can even call it that. Tobi deserved a do over, the next one was gonna be perfect. At least for now they can chat while they head to the English department.
