Amory:
My head is killing me, and these two crazy men are staring at me. I have no idea where I am, who they are, or what they want. All I want is my head to stop pounding.
"I might be able to help with your headache, just lay still please," the younger one says to me, moving closer, slowly holding his hands out. "Aylward, can you close the curtains over the window, please?"
The older man, Aylward, goes and closes the curtains while the red head sits on the edge of the bed close to my head. He holds his hands out and slowly bring them closer to my head. he pauses and waits for my nod before he puts his hands on either side of my face, slowly rubbing his fingers in small circles right by my ear. A slightly warm sensation starts up where he is massaging, and a small blue light is coming from his skin. I close my eyes and feel myself relaxing. the throb in my head slowly loses intensity, until it is finally gone. opening my eyes, I release a sigh of relief as I look at the 2 men there.
"How long have I been out?"
"Umm...well, it's been three days," the young one says, looking embarrassed and maybe guilty.
"Three days!" I didn't mean to tell so loud, but thoughts of what my father would do to me flash in my head. He is going to either kill me or lock me away indefinitely. My skin already feels sore just thinking about the beating I will get when he finds me. I can't catch my breath and I can't stop myself from shaking all over.
"I have to go! He might not be so angry if I go back before it's too much longer. I must go, before he finds me. I have to turn myself in. if he finds me.....Oh God, what am I going to do if he finds me."
The younger one is trying to calm me down, trying to get me to focus on him rather than the panic filling my head. I'm rocking back and forth while I'm sitting on the bed. I can't catch my breath and my brains starts to scream out for me to take a deep breath, but I can't. I'm going to die of fear of my father.
The next thing I know, the red head puts a paper bag in front of my face and puts my hand on his chest. Finally, my breathing returns to normal, and my body is overwhelmed by exhaustion.
"Go to sleep, we will explain more when you wake up," Aylward says quietly as they lay me down and cover me up.
