Aylward:
As the hours passed by, I feel my panic to rise, as Amory is still sleeping. This time Haven is much calmer, explaining how the panic attack drained all his energy, not that he had much when that happened. I was able to get a few hours of sleep during the night, while Haven watched over Amory. Right now, Haven is getting his well-deserved rest while I keep an eye out.
Finally, I hear rustling over in the bed. I look over and see Amory slowly sitting up, looking at me with a fair bit of suspicion in his eyes. I don't blame him. he finds out he was asleep for three days with strangers who just kidnapped him from the only home he's known. I am honestly surprised he hasn't tried to run yet.
"Why didn't you try to run when you first woke up?" Too curious no to ask I wait patiently for his answer.
"It’s not like I was in the best position to try and run away. Disoriented, dehydrated, hungry, and scared. I probably would have just fell on my face. Plus, for some crazy reason, I feel like I can trust you two. Do you know why that is?" He looks so confused and lost and despite his dark hair, he looks so much like Aamirah. It takes my breath away, how much he looks like her.
"Let me wake up Haven so he can make sure you are ok. then I will explain everything, I promise," I turn to walk toward Haven. "Also, don't worry about your father, he won't come near you if I can help it." I shake Haven's shoulder and call his name to get him awake. He mumbles and slowly sits up, obviously still tired after not sleeping for days in a row.
"Sorry to wake you up, but Amory is awake again. Will you look him over to make sure he is ok before we dive into this mess?"
"Of course," he says with a wide yawn. "While I check him out, will you please make something to eat. If I'm this hungry, I can only imagine Amory is about to starve." We both smile as Amory's stomach let's out a loud growl right after Haven asks that.
I turn and head down to the kitchen to make some lunch while Haven gives Amory a checkup. I throw together some sandwiches and get some drinks together, trying to make sure I give them enough time to get finished.
Once I get back upstairs, I give everyone their food and drink. We eat silently, each lost in our thoughts. I'm trying to figure out where to even start explaining everything to Amory. It's going to be a lot, and it's probably going to turn his world upside down. They finish eating, Haven takes the dishes downstairs while Amory goes to wash up and change into the spare clothes we have for him. The clothes are too small since Amory is taller and more muscular than either of us. We will have to get him some clothes that fit before we head back home. Haven and Amory came back at the same time and they both sit on the couch. Amory is looking at me, waiting for me to start.
"So, I guess I'll start with introductions. Next to you is Haven, light healer. He has just recently joined me in my search for you. I am Aylward, Protector of The Heir of the Celestial Power. I am your uncle," I see Amory's eyes go wide, shock turning to confusion in an instant. I keep talking before he starts asking questions.
"Your mother was my sister. When she was 16 years old, she went missing. She snuck out one night, without her guard, and I never heard from her again, until right before you were born. She managed to get a letter out to me to tell me what happened. I have it for you, when you are ready, it has a memory spell attached that only her son can open. Your mother's name was Aamirah and she was The Heir to the Celestial Power. Your father kidnapped her and got her pregnant with you. He timed it right, so she would never ascend before you were born. She didn't have enough power to escape, only enough to protect you." I stopped talking, stopped pacing, almost stopped breathing when I look at him. Tears are running down his face while Haven is rubbing his hands in circles on Amory's back, soothing him.
"Aamirah...."
