The moon has long gone down while the sun is starting to show up indicating that morning has come.

Inside the light palace, Zhang Lin got up with dark eye circles as he couldn't sleep at all last night.

Last night, he didn't get much sleep as he was busy thinking of a plan to escape from the palace, but still haven't come up with one at the moment.

Zhang Lin couldn't think of a plan at the moment since he was not familiar with the palace making it hard to come up with a plan, thus he decided to observe the palace first, before making his move.

Thus, just right after he finished eating his meal in the pavilion, Zhang Lin asked the maid to take him for a walk around the palace to get a better idea of the palace.

Walking around the palace, the maid explains the different places they came upon, however Zhang Lin wasn't paying any attention to the maid and her explanation at all as he was too immersed in observing the different places.

Walking around for almost 20 minutes, they came upon a place designated for one of the concubines in which Zhang Lin couldn't help, but pause at the place. It's not that he was interested in the place, but rather he was interested in the big tree near the place.

The tree was very big and tall with many branches.

Seeing the big tree, Zhang Lin gives out a smile.

Thanks to the tree, he finally had a plan in mind. His plan was to use the tree as a tool to help him escape from the palace without grabbing any attention from the guards. Since the tree was big and tall, and it has many strong branches on top of that toward the end of the branches it lead to the top of the roof, which he could easily walk on the roof once he climbs on top of the tree, and then walk to the wall and jump down from the wall to the other side without having to go to the front door, where there are guards.

Zhang Lin stopped to observe the tree.

Indeed, it was a good tree with many branches around it, which he could use to climb it as rock climbing just like in his original world.

Yes. Finally, I can leave the palace soon.

Zhang Lin couldn't help, but feel excited by his thoughts. He then turned to the maid and said, "Let's go back."

The maid nodded and quickly guided them back to the light palace.

Once they got back to the light palace, Zhang Lin quickly ordered the maid. "Ju, I need you to prepare a few black robes, a black veil as well as a strong rope for me. Bring them to me later."

The maid was shocked upon hearing Zhang Lin's request. She couldn't help, but wonder why her lady would need those things. Thus, she asked, "My la...I mean Zhang Lin, why would you need those things for?"

"Didn't you say that there are bad people, and that I look too good with white robe? Thus, I have decided that I want to try wearing black robe, and cover my face with a black veil, so that no one can see my face, or else they might scheme against me. As for the rope, I wanted to play with it for fun."

The maid who unfortunately didn't have a high IQ believed in Zhang Lin's lie, and got up preparing to go get the stuff that Zhang Lin had requested for.

Seeing the maid no longer ask about the matter any longer, and was about to walk away, as if remembering something Zhang Lin quickly called the maid back.

"Ju, I need some money for personal use, so go tell the head eunuch to send me some money later."

"Yes." With that she left to get the stuff Zhang Lin requested for.

Seeing the maid walking away, Zhang Lin let out a sigh of relief. Thank goodness, he remembers to ask for some money, or else he would struggle for a living after getting out of the palace.

It didn’t take long before the maid came back bringing the things that he requested for.

Afterward, the head eunuch that was responsible for the concubines' needs also came to give him a money bag that contains only silvers.

The money bag didn't have any gold bar since there are limitations to how much the concubine can ask for it.

Zhang Lin put all the things into his room and prepared to take action tonight.

The sun had long gone down by the time Zhang Lin finished eating his meal and taking a bath.

Afterward, Zhang Lin pretended to be tired and dismissed the maid. Once, he was sure that the maid had left, he slowly opened his eyes and got off the bed.

Zhang Lin reached for the things that he had the maid prepare for him earlier. Grabbing the black robe, he quickly took off his night robe and changed it to the black robe. He then tied his long black hair into a ponytail, and put on the black veil covering half of his face and folded the long rope and tied it to his slender waist.

Thankfully, there were no guards nor servants guarding the light palace, but only his personal maid, who he had dismissed a while ago.

Zhang Lin slowly opened the door to make sure there wasn't anyone outside of the light palace. Seeing no one he turned back to slowly close the door to prevent making noise.

Zhang Lin walked out of light palace dressing in all black. However, one thing Zhang Lin forgot is that he is terrible when it comes to direction.

Zhang Lin has trouble finding the place with the big tree. He ended up spending almost 30 minutes, before finding the place with the big tree.

Since it was night time, Zhang Lin couldn't see the surrounding of the place well, therefore he couldn't really tell if that was the earlier place or not, but upon seeing the familiar tree, he knew that he had found the right place.

Instead of taking action immediately, Zhang Lin decided to lay beside the tree to take a few minutes of rest to gain some energy before he starts to climb on the tree since just now his energy has been drained when trying to look for the place.

Unbeknown to Zhang Lin, the place he found was not from the earlier place he saw. Not only that, a certain handsome man inside the study hall has heard all of his clumsy movements since the time he has arrived.
