Just to begin, thank you for giving my story a shot. I started writing these a while ago and I think publishing it out into the world will give me a reason to keep writing. My updates will be sporadic due to work and school obligations, please bare with me through it. I do hope you all enjoy this story. It is a slow burn boy love story so there will be boy on boy action at some point so if you aren't into that then... I don't know why you are here. ^~^
Anyways, enjoy and leave a comment and give me any feedback. I will appreciate it all.

Today is the first day at a new school. It is not the first time I have moved and had to go through the whole process of meeting the teachers and making new friends. I have moved a lot, but this seemed different. It felt off and that made me nervous. It might be the fact that this school is no ordinary school. Recently, unbeknownst to me, my family decided to inform me the reasons why we kept moving every year or less to places miles away from the last place.
The reason? Apparently we are all filled with magic.
Sound crazy yet? It gets worse. Just wait and see.
According to my mother, there are three types of people: humans, magic wielders, and magic holders. A magic wielder needs a magic holder in order to perform magic, without the two nothing happens. This sounds easy and simple to me, but my mother explained that many years ago (probably in like the 1600s or something), humans began forcing magic wielders to do their bidding by torturing or separating the wielder from their holder.
Once a magic wielder and a magic holder have bonded and their energy has entwined, it becomes quite painful when they are separated at any lengths of time. Humans knew this and used it to fuel their own greed, but their plan had horrible consequences. Wielders and holders who were tortured or separated for too long ended up committing suicide in many ways. Since then, magic wielders and holders have become very rare to the point where humans have forgotten they even existed.
The reason my mother told me this is because she is a magic holder and apparently so am I, though she is not sure. My father is a regular human. My family has been running from a group of people who are after magic wielders and holders in order to gain control over the magic they possess. That is why I am at this new school. It is specifically designed (and very well hidden) for magic wielders and holders.
The only problem is the students here have been able to form bonds with their respective half and have learned how to control magic. I have not.
This will be fun.

My mother has always made it a point for us to be early wherever we are going, therefore I arrived at school an hour before anyone else seemed to show up. To be fair, the students live in dorms on the campus, so they probably all head into the main building for classes right before they start.
“Darling?” My mother was bending down to my height, staring at me with her cold green eyes. “Nova, sweetheart, are you okay?”
Blinking, I shook myself out of my frozen state. I nodded softly, “Yes, mom, I am okay. I think I’m just nervous.”
My mother’s face relaxed as her sweet smile spread across her face before she began leading me towards the entrance. “I understand. It has been a long time and I feel there is almost nothing you need to worry about. Running away is only temporary and it is best you learn to hone in your craft in case anything bad does happen.”
I shrugged, hoping and praying nothing bad ever happens, but deep down I know something is coming.
We entered through the massive double oak doors that led into a large open room. There were a few offices in the back part of the room, but my mom led me towards the front office that was directly left from the entrance. There were glass windows spanning the office, allowing any bypassers the ability to see into the office. From what I could tell, there were two women inside the office, sitting at their desks and typing on their computers.
It was only upon entering that I noticed the women were not completely human. One lady seemed much younger than the other one. She had bright pink hair and glowing blue eyes, literally glowing. She was dressed in normal business casual clothes (not important). The strange, and very visible, thing was that she had a tail like a tiger. The other woman was showing her age with white dancing its way through her black hair and the soft wrinkles around her eyes and lips. There didn’t seem anything odd about her, but I’m not letting my guard down yet.
“Hello and welcome to Whitehall Boarding School. May I help you?” The younger lady spoke, her voice was cheerful enough, but a little rough for my liking.
I hid behind my mother as she spoke kindly to the lady, “Hello. My name is Stella White. I am here to get my son settled into the school. I was told that he would be staying in the dormitories and would have to come here to get his schedule.”
“Ah, yes, Mrs. White, welcome. I am assuming Nova White is your son.” The lady asked which my mother nodded and stepped aside, allowing the woman to see me fully. “Oh my.” The woman’s eyes widened as she stared at me.
Look. I am no freak. I just look like an average human would, but people always stare and gawk at me like I am some statue in a museum.
Let me explain. I am extremely small. I believe I stopped growing when I hit the age of 10 or 11. I am 16 now, or will be in a few weeks. I look like a child and, as my mother never fails to mention, I will always look like “her little baby”. (I’m gagging inside.) Other than my shortness, I also have my mother’s bright green eyes and my father’s white blonde hair. I look very strange, but otherwise I am quite normal.
Well, sort of.
“Hello, Nova.” The older lady spoke as she stood up, her voice was gentle and light, like a breeze. “Here is your packet. Inside, you will find your schedule, a map of the campus, the rule book, your dorm key, your locker key, and the list of school items you will need to pick up from the supply office. Understand?”
I nodded slightly as I held the (extremely) heavy brown parcel. My nerves kicked into overdrive again.
“Oh sweetheart, don’t worry, your roommate is the head of the student council - well basically the whole school - and will be extremely helpful to you.” The younger lady smiled down at me. “Oh! We forgot to introduce ourselves. I am Tyra Lyon. I am a hybrid magic holder. That’s why I have a tail.” Her smile brightened as she pulled her tiger tail into view.
The older lady chuckled softly before she sat back down. She looked at me as she spoke, “ I am Winter Dean. I am a magic wielder. Tyra is my holder. I am quite normal I guess.” Her lips curved very slightly in some form of a smile before she went back to typing.
“Oh! Here comes your roommate.” Ms. Tyra barked out quickly (poor choice of words but oh well).
Cliffhanger! Hahaha, anyways, I hope you all enjoyed Part 1. Please stay tune for Part 2 and leave a comment on what you think the school president will look like or brainstorm on what evil could come after a small boy.
