“Okay. Well that is going to wrap it up.” Charlotte yells up to the windows. “I hope to see some of you in my class. And I believe the rest of them feel the same.” Then the lights switch off. And then someone comes up behind me.

“What are yo-”

“Shh.” It’s not actually dark, The lights are on, this is just Edward being Edward.

“What are you doing?” I finish my statement but in a whisper.

“Wel-”

“We are not doing this again.” I escape his grasp. “I don’t know if you are just messing with my head or- Or I don’t know.” I say and then a light illuminates his face. “Can anybody else see us?”

“No. Nor can they hear us. How did you know it was me who messed with the lights?”

“Because I can’t see anyone's bracelet glowing.” I say and he laughs. “Is everyone else's vision dark?”

“No. And I am not messing with your head.” He says.

“Well I don’t know what to believe anymore. You did it last time.”

“No I did- Nevermind. You- I loved you and I didn’t know what else to do. I am sorry.” I shake my head.

“Well I am sorry but I just don’t believe you.” I say, “Let me go.” He does, I turn around and run to Charlotte.

“What just happened?” She asks. I shake my head, “Okay. Let’s just go.” I nod and she grabs my arm.

Edward Saxe

“Dude. You’re you, just get over him. Go hook up with someone.” Vincent says and I shake my head.

“No. I am not doing that. I want to show hi-”

“Stop. He doesn’t love you. You betrayed his trust. Just give it up, I am sorry but someone had to tell you.” He says, Vincent is always the secretly kind one, protective, all the good stuff. But right now he really does just need to be blunt.

“I know. But I am not going to just leave it.” I say and take off my shirt to change, then the intercom comes on.

“Hello MMCs.” The headmaster’s voice comes through, everyone turns to the hologram standing in front of me. The headmaster covers his eyes when he sees me. “I apologize.”

“It’s fine. Just get this over with.” I say and put on another shirt, a clean one.

Vincent leans in close to me and whispers, “You’re not going to seduce him with your body, although it’s working on me.” He winks and I elbow him.

“Okay, well it turns out you guys are going to have to take one class this year.” The headmaster says, “It’s just a simple one, just to cover the basics of teaching.” He explains, “It will only be an hour and it will be after regular school hours.”

“Is that all?” I ask, sounding annoyed and Alexandra elbows me this time.

“Is there somewhere you have to be, Saxe?” He asks.

“I am tired from talking and battling all day. I have to be home to sleep.” I say.

“Don’t be a dick.” Alexandra says.

“Well yes, that was all. I am going to sign off. Get a good night's rest, it’s a big day tomorrow. Good night.” He leaves, Alexandra and Vincent turn to me.

“What the hell?” Vincent asks. “Don’t take your troubles out on other people.”

“Seriously. Chil-” The doors to the gym slam shut, Charlotte and Dylan just left.

“Let’s just go. I am tired.” I grab my duffel bag and run outside to the dorms. I get to our room and jump into the shower.

“Edward?” I hear Vincent outside. My amazing roommate, and then I hear the door to the bathroom open.

“Dude!” I say, it doesn’t much matter because the glass on the shower is completely fogged up but I would rather not have him in here.

“What? I have a junk too.”

“And we’re both bi.” I say.

“No, you’re bi. I am pan. Get it right, I am only your best friend!” Vincent says.

“Shut up, God, I hate you.” I say and he laughs, “And get out!”

“Really? Are you kidding?” Charlotte is appalled. “He just won’t quit will he?”

“I do lov-”

“Don’t you dare. He is probably just messing with you again. That manipulative son of a bitch.” She says and I laugh.

“Whatever you’re in love with-”

“Nope.” She puts her hand over my mouth. She whips her hand back after I lick it. “Gross!”

“Haven’t you learned your lesson yet?” She laughs, “Let’s just go to bed. We have to get up early tomorrow.”

“Okay, goodnight. Love you.”

“Love you too.” We turn out the lights.

After an hour I am sure she is asleep. I pull out my phone, “Hey, meet me in the gym.” And then I hang up.

I throw on a sweatshirt over my bare chest and head out. After a few minutes I arrive at the gym and he is already waiting there.

I walk over and kiss him, he smiles at me. “I am surprised you called.”
