After some fun activities, Stan and his friends replenished their energy with pizza. Stan had also seen the animatronics up close for the first time. They were bigger than he thought. One of which he saw was different from the rest. It moved more smoothly and fluently than the others.
Stan dismissed the thought.
He got off the chair and started to walk away from the table. Fritz grabbed his arm.
"Where are you going?" he asked.
"I need to go to the toilets." Stan replied.
Fritz let go and resumed to eat some pizza. As Stan walked down the halls further away from the table, a faint voice called out to him.
"Don't take too long Stan! Someone wants to show us something!"
It was Cass' voice. Stan kept on walking. Once he entered the restroom, he quickly entered a toilet stall. He locked the door behind him. It was filthy but Stan couldn't complain.
His whistle echoed in the quiet restrooms until he heard someone go in. Stan had just finished his business but then he realised something. The person didn't sound like it was going in a particular direction, it just stood there briefly. As if was looking for something. It stepped in the direction of Stan's stall. But the strangest thing was that he didn't hear footsteps of a shoe walking on a tile. The footsteps sounded light. Stan stood on top of the toilet but ducked so he couldn't be seen above or below its line of sight. Looking at the shadow that had cast on the floor, Stan did his best to hold his breath.
He realised that 'it' was not a person.
It continued to gradually make its way towards Stan. He flinched when a loud bang occurred in the room. It was going to find Stan! But he didn't dare to flee. He just stood there, in silence and paralyzed.
Bang! Tip...Toe...Tip...Toe...Bang!
It was getting closer by the second. Until...
Thud! Rattle! Rattle!
Stan gave up his attempts to hold his breath and breathed intensely. His heart pounded heavily. It was trying to break down the door! After what felt like a full minute of panic, it all stopped suddenly. Silence filled the room.
Nothing happened for another minute. Stan was motionless. It should be safe, but the dreaded stillness filled him with anxiety. With enough courage, he made contact with the floor and rested his hand on the door.
Stan took a deep breath and unlocked the door. Nothing. He opened the door. Nothing again. He walked out of the stall. Nothing yet again. It was all empty, he was the only one inside. Uneased, Stan ran out of the restrooms. The sound of other kids relieved him and as Stan went back to sit on his table. There was something very wrong...
All of his friends were missing.
