“I caught these three and put them inside for you to meet them.” Melanie pointed out three of the ponies. “The bay is a Welsh gelding named Roy. He’s a pretty fancy and competitive pony jumper. The palomino is a mare named Ellie. The bay paint mare is a Welara pony called Akko.”

Sage felt drawn to Akko and reached out a hand. The pony sniffed her hand and nickered. Sage petted the pony, wishing she had a treat for her.

“Looks like you already made a friend!” Melanie said. “Follow me and I’ll show you what tack you can use to try each pony.”
