His first few days weren't that bad, but Souta felt drained. Even though, he hasn't actually worked yet, there were still a lot of things to learn and a lot of names to remember. It was off-season, so for now he worked at the hotel's restaurant to "challenge himself", as Watanabe put it. Souta knew it was a bullshit, but he didn't mind. He was used to donkeywork and had a lot of experience in waitressing. The only problem was that he was dead tired after the shifts, so his whole room was still cluttered with unpacked boxes.
He was glad his new place was more like a typical apartment building rather than a dormitory. It actually looked exactly like the ones his friends, who lived on their own during university, had and because of that, it felt even more like his own flat. He had his own bathroom and his own washing machine on his own balcony. It had everything he would like to have, despite the fact the room wasn't big. If, by any chance, he would like to start cooking for himself, he even had a space he didn't have to share. The only thing missing was someone to unpack everything for him...
Or cook.
His stomach started growling. It was already dark outside, yet he hasn't eaten a proper meal yet. All his muscles were crying for mercy, since he woke up and all he did during the whole day was lying on bed and playing with his phone. Now his battery was dead and his stomach woke up, ready to beg for food. Souta closed his eyes and groaned. His fridge was empty and he didn't even know where any pan his mom packed for him is. Needless to say, his cooking skills were awful. How fortunate that convenience store was so close! He wore a jacket and went out. When he was passing a room next to his, faint smell of yakisoba made him stop for a second. He really needs to learn how to cook. Growl! His stomach rumbled again. He ran down the stairs, wandering who his neighbour is. He lived there almost a week now and he still hasn't met people living on his floor. Maybe they have different shifts than he has? At least now he knew there actually is someone inside.
He came back with his favourite pre-made ramen, proud of himself. It was definitely a healthier choice than instant one and a slightly easier to make. He took off his shoes with a big smile and entered the room without turning on the light. Bam! The second he set his foot inside, he tripped over one box. He muttered a curse. Luckily, everything was fine with his food and his hip was only slightly bruised. He got up and looked around. Boxes, boxes and even more boxes. And on top of some boxes, boxes. It's hard to move around when there's no space on the floor whatsoever, he had to admit. Souta let out a small sigh. If not now, he will never do it. He put his ramen in the microwave and turned the music on.
It's high time to deal with this mess, he decided rolling up his sleeves.

"I like your taste in music" said Haruto, shutting his locker.
Maeda looked around, his thin, narrow eyes widened. But the room was empty, there were only two of them. Haruto couldn't talk to anyone else. "Sorry?"
"Well, I guess even if I don't like some of the songs, I just have to get used to them anyway."
"Huh?" repeated Maeda, still looking puzzled.
Tsk, is he stupid or what? "You really like your music loud" Haruto explained, emphasising every word. "I also like good music, but somehow I'm always afraid my neighbours would hate my choices." That said he left the locker-room and went to back office to pick up the intercom. Soon there will be a swarm of guests and no time to even think about his irritation. He took a last glance at his phone and clipped the intercom to his slacks.
"Tamura," he heard behind him. "Please, help yourself to those chocolates." Kinoshita smiled at him and placed one in his palm. "It's from me and Arai from Guam. We just came back yesterday."
"Oh yeah, how was it?" He put chocolate into his mouth, noticing it was one of the last ones in the box.
"Great!" she exclaimed. They lined up in front of the reception. There was still some time before the peak, so they could speak freely. Some people from waiting staff were fooling around, Ogawa was showing a gag, even the manager was scrolling through his phone. "The water, the beach!" Kinoshita continued. "Oh my...! I'll show you pics later, 'kay? But really, it was so worth it!"
He frowned and look through lounge's windows at white sand and clear ocean. It was still mid-April, but the weather was so good, that first people have started enjoying it already. "Is it that different from here, though?" he asked carefully.
"Of course!" Kinoshita looked at him as if he was crazy. "Have you ever been there?"
He shook his head. In fact, he's never been abroad, but somehow he didn't feel like saying it out loud.
