"Good morning."
Cody looked up darkly from his bowl of stewed oats to see Thomas standing in front of him, holding two trays.
"Look - the oats are shit, don't eat them. I got one of the breakfast guys to save me some cornflakes," Thomas placed one of the trays in front of Cody, on top of which was a bowl of decidedly more edible looking cereal.
"Is it poisoned?" Cody grunted.
Thomas laughed and pulled out the chair opposite, "Nope - but you kind of look like you might want it to be - rough night?"
Cody narrowed his eyes at him, "You really don't know?"
Thomas shook his head with a confused expression.
"We weren't given enough beds so we had to share," Cody replied, "I don't think we're very much liked around here."
Thomas looked as if he wanted to smile, "Actually that's kind of what I wanted to talk to you about - I think we got off on the wrong foot yesterday. I was just stressed about some things. Think we could have a do-over?"
Cody frowned, "I guess..."
"Awesome - because I need a favour."
Cody groaned loudly and pulled the cornflakes towards him as Sienna joined them. Aero and Tyron were still in the queue.
"Just hear me out?" Thomas asked, raising his eyebrows hopefully.
"What's this about?" Sienna quipped, giving Cody a questioning look.
"It's about one of the Dolls," Thomas began.
"What do you want with Aero?" Cody responded grimly.
"How did you know?" Thomas laughed before shaking his head, "actually scratch that - just...please do you think you could convince him to provoke Jago less? Jago's difficult enough to deal with on a good day and now he's been partnered with that." He indicated over to where Aero was draping himself over Tyron and yawning exaggeratedly.
"Aero is difficult to control," Cody replied coldly, although he knew someone would probably have to try eventually.
"Yeah, so is Jago," Thomas muttered, "just, could one of you at least attempt to convince Aero that Jago isn't the enemy? He's actually a pretty good guy if you get to know him."
At that moment Jago stalked past them, clutching his breakfast tray like he wanted to make it double as a weapon before he slammed it down on a nearby empty table.
"...and so long as you're not on his bad side," Thomas added under his breath, before standing up and going to join the other Feral.
That night the Dolls entered their dorm room to find two more beds had been added.
Cody knew a bribe when he saw one.
