Zhang Lin was extremely tired to the point that he wasn't paying any attention to the way the guards had just addressed him as all he wanted to do at the moment was to get back to the light palace as soon as possible and take a rest.

"Do you guys know where the light palace is?"

"Answering your highness, light palace is not far from here. If you walk straight down this road, then the light palace should be on the left."

"Oh, I see. Thank you."

"It's our duty."

Zhang Lin was about to walk away when he realized that the guards were still kneeling.

Why are they still kneeling? They must be kneeling to me, because I am a concubine. Mn. Maybe that is the case.

"You may all rise."

"Thank you, your highness."

Zhang Lin didn't really pay any attention to what the guards were saying at all other than the direction that they gave him since all he cares about at the moment is to go back and take a rest.

Zhang Lin walked away to where the guards were telling him. It didn't take long before he reached the light palace.

The guards that had just helped Zhang Lin with his direction issue were just regular guards and not the imperial guards hence their ranks are much lower compared to the imperial guards.

The guards couldn't help, but gossip once Zhang Lin's figure had disappeared from their sight.

"Is that really the empress? I don't remember hearing about our country having an empress." One of the guards asked.

"It should be, if not then there is no way she would be wearing that golden robe designate for the empress inside the palace." Another guard replied.

"She's probably not crowned yet, but maybe soon." Another guard responded.

"That is true."

"Did you guys notice that the way she walks seems weird. Did she perhaps get an injury?"

"Who knows."

"Never thought that the empress is such a beauty." Another guard spoke.

"Shh...you shouldn't say that out loud. If the emperor heard what you say about his empress then you...." One of the guards said without finishing his word, but used his hand as a gesture of slicing, meaning you will get kill.

The guard that had just spoken out about how gorgeous the empress was instantly paled and shut his mouth immediately in fear that the emperor would kill him for talking about his empress, the mother figure of the country.

Reaching light palace, Zhang Lin immediately went to his room to take a rest.

The innocent Zhang Lin really has no idea what the guards were gossiping about and if he did he would definitely be angry to the point of coughing a mouthful of blood for being called the mother figure of the country.

For god sake, he is a man.

Zhang Lin went straight to his bed. His back was so uncomfortable in which he only wanted to lay down on the soft bed. He also needs to think of a new plan to escape from the palace as his first plan has been ruined by a certain devil ambassador.

Laying on the bed, Zhang Lin tried to think of another plan, but still came up with nothing.

Inside the grand hall, the court session had just ended.

The emperor walked straight toward his royal chamber.

Seeing the emperor, the imperial guards that had been hiding from this morning as instructed by the emperor came out to greet him.

"Greeting, your highness." All the guards said in unison.

"Where is the person?" The emperor asked.

The imperial guards knew who the emperor was asking for.

"Answering your majesty, that person is really a concubine. She resides in light palace and has already went back." Jin Mu replied.

All of the imperial guards have yet to discover the fact that Zhang Lin was a man other than the emperor.

Hearing Jin Mu's response, the emperor didn't say anything more and went inside his royal chamber to take a rest.

In the capital of Qin, in a place with a big lake, two figures could be seen. They were talking sweet to each other while holding hands.

Yes, those two figures are Li Na and Chen. They both got together not long ago. They meet again in the street and bump into each other. They got to know one another and decided to get together.

Before they got together, Chen lied to Li Na about being a scholar since she kept asking him about things relating to scholars, thus he could guess that she must be going after scholar guys, hence he lied to her and she really agreed to date him.

"Li Na, you are so...so pretty." Chen said.

Li Na blushed and commented, " Chen, you are very handsome."

Chen suddenly let out a sigh.

Li Na was startled thus she asked, "What is wrong?"

Chen lied.

He knew that Li Na came from a rich family, even though not so rich, but he knew that he could scam some money from her since she seems to be so in love with him. He did think that she was pretty, but when compared to those prostitutes at the brothel there wasn't much difference. He wanted to scam some money from her, so that he could go have some fun and enjoy himself in the brothel.

"Chen, maybe I can help. How much do you need?" Li Na asked.

Upon hearing what he wants to hear, Chen smiles inwardly.

"I need about 5 gold bars."

Chen nodded as he quickly said, "I really want to become an imperial scholar."

Hearing that Li Na didn't think much, or detect his lie as she said, "I don't have money, but I can borrow it from my mother. But, you have to pay it all back to her once you become an imperial scholar.” Li Na lied.

Even though she likes Chen, yet to her money was way more important than Chen.

Li Na went home straight home. She didn't even tell her mother about her conversation with Chen. She even hid the fact that she is now together with Chen from her mother.

Once she is in her room, she takes out a key from her drawer, and opens one of her locked drawers.

Inside the drawer, there were many Jewelry along with 50 silvers, and 30 gold bars. She then took 5 gold bars, before locking the drawer again. She put the 5 gold bars into a money bag and prepared to give them to Chen tomorrow.

After preparing the money, she then decided to go out and buy some new clothes.

Walking in the busy street, Li Na was about to go inside a shop that sells high quality clothes which is opposite from a brothel, but suddenly stopped when she saw Chen. She was about to call him, but before she could call him he had already walked into the brothel.

Li Na was a bit surprised.

Why is Chen going to a brothel?

Li Na quickly followed him into the brothel. Once she got inside Chen was nowhere to be found. She quickly went upstairs trying to find Chen.

Passing the different rooms upstairs, Li Na could hear the filthy moans coming from inside the rooms.

Li Na was about to pass a room, but paused when she heard a prostitute moaning Chen's name.

Just as Li Na was about to open the door, she paused when she heard Chen talking sweetly to the latter.

The sound of moaning continued on as if it was not going to stop at any time soon. Li Na didn't care anymore as she slowly opened the door.

Inside the room, Chen was doing the prostitute on the bed with his back facing Li Na.

Both Chen and the prostitute were still in heat in which they didn't realize that someone had just opened the door to the room.

Seeing their interaction, Li Na knew that this was not Chen's first time in this brothel.

Li Na was infamous for her nasty personality, but unexpectedly she did nothing and walked out of the brothel. She then orders the servants that follow her to stay behind to observe Chen and report to her.

Walking out of the brothel, Li Na went to the shop that sells high quality clothes.

Li Na was supposed to be losing her mind and lost her interest in shopping, but somehow after seeing Chen with another woman, it didn't impact her mood at all, but rather it only made her feel disgusted.

By the time Li Na got home, the servants also came back from observing Chen.

"Reporting my lady, Chen is a commoner that lives near the brothel that you went inside earlier. I asked some people around that knew him and happened to find out that he was not a scholar like he claims to be, but all the people that I asked said that he's a gambler and a drunkard. He often goes to the brothel."

What a temper lady, the servants all thought inwardly.

Li Na was not angry at Chen for cheating on her, but rather she was angry at Chen for lying to her about being a scholar.

Thank goodness, she hasn't given him the money, or else she won't be able to get her money back.
