Hell has no furry like a woman scorned! Well, Shakespeare, let me just say that that line is the stupidest pile of shit I have ever heard. Take it from someone who is currently in hell. The flames rise higher, and I feel all the water in my body drain out of me. I need water, but with this heat, it is impossible for even the coldest water to not evaporate in a second. I feel myself get pushed to the ground by an unusually big hand. By now, my clothes have burned off, and I know that I am naked, yet all I can even think about is water. I need water!
“Steven! Wake the fuck up already, or the guard is going to fuck us both up.”
I sat up in my bed. “What the hell just happened?”
“What the fuck are you talking about? Get your fucking pants on and get over here!”
I looked over at my cellmate and gave him a ‘dad-face,’ as he calls it. “You know I don’t like that word, Bob.”
Bob just smirked at me and said, “Fuck that! I love the fucking word so much that I would fucking marry it.”
Bob and I started laughing as I pulled my shirt over my head and jumped out of bed. As I landed on the ground, I suddenly felt woozy. I collapsed to the floor, and Bob looked over at me, very concerned.
“Are you okay, man? You look really pale, and you’re sweating all over.”
“I’ll be fine,” I responded as confidently as possible, but all I could think in my head was how screwed I was if the guard knew about my condition. I don’t want to go back there. I don’t want to go back to that burning inferno.
“Well,” SMACK! Bob said while hitting my cheeks. “You should at least get some kind of color in your face. That way, the guard won’t say anything.”
SMACK! “Back at you!” I said after hitting Bob back.
“Fuck! Dude, that fucking hurt! I didn’t hit you that fucking hard.”
“You can’t say you didn’t see that coming. How long have we roomed with each other again?”
“ROLLCALL!” the guard yelled, and I involuntarily moved forward. I found myself outside my cell and standing exactly three feet away from my roommate and the guy in the cell next to us. The guard moved past us with a creepy smirk on his face. These creepy creatures knew exactly how much distance three feet was without even using a ruler. They knew all of our faces, and what our body temperatures were, and they could hear our heartbeats without any instruments. They are not human. This much we know, yet somehow no one has seen these creatures outside the prison walls before. No one has ever known these creatures to be anywhere on this planet but here and at the Dome.
“TODAY, THREE LUCKY INMATES GET TO GO ON A PLANE OUT OF HERE”
Everyone instantly froze up. No matter how violent humans are, the things that these creatures do to us go far beyond what humankind ever had the imagination to do to each other. Getting on that plane has always been called the ultimate punishment, and inmates are always sent for no reason whatsoever. Not only that, but it’s also always the inmates who are the least dangerous. I would understand sending inmates who have killed someone, but not inmates who learned to read behind the government's back, or inmates who started planting their own food. I felt my entire body shake as the guard stopped in front of me.
“THIS ONE!” the guard said while pointing at me. Somehow this day has no way of getting worst. Of course, two more were picked, and the guard left as we all walked back into our cells. The moment I was inside I fell to the floor.
“Well, Bob,” I said while looking up to my good friend. “I guess it’s time I told you why I’m here.”
“Fuck that man! I can’t let you do this! I won’t let this happen! What will I do in this boring as fuck hellhole without you?”
The big burly man looked like he was about to cry as I got up off the ground only to fall again. “Count yourself lucky you’re here and not in hell,” I said, and Bob gave me a confused look. I decided to ignore it and went on with my story.
“I broke into the Dome!”
Bob looked at me with an expression that could only be described as ‘fuck!’
“I knew it was off limits, but there was this girl I liked, and she was so curious about what it was like. So I went to impress her. Stupid… right? But that’s how it was, I never did get to tell her what I found, but at least you can know.” I leaned in closer and whispered the biggest secret of my life into Bob’s ear, and again. The expression on his face could only be described as ‘fuck’.
