Chapter II-II:
Great Hero
An argent silver carriage with two white mares clopped along the bustling street. It could not go very far though, for there were ninety-nine other carriages along this road, all trying to make their way into the royal palace.
Ideally, all these carriages will just halt in this traffic jam forever.
Which just so happened to be this woman's Plan B. What happened to Plan A you ask?
Plan A was that they wouldn’t get through the city entrance in the first place, causing infighting about who would pass and spread chaos amongst themselves.
But a wrench was thrown into her plans when the ministers all unanimously approved a construction proposal to widen the main road, enabling it to fit up to one hundred caravans.
Tch.
Seriously, shouldn’t the conservative nobles not want to waste tax money on stuff like this? Eilane thought at the time.
No matter. It should still take a full day for them to move west towards the palace-
The great hero must have grown weary of the horses’ stop-and-go motion, for a silver carriage door burst open.
Out stepped a grand, young man with bright silver in his eyes and snow-white hair on the crown of his head. Clad head to toe in gleaming armour, everyone could still see the athletic build teeming with muscle underneath. His face shone with a grandeur anyone would call beautiful, yet his countenance held a manly stoicism.
Even the single-minded Eilane couldn’t help but think this man was extremely handsome.
Fervour rose among the crowd as everyone tried to catch a glimpse of the great hero. Bewildered, the carriage driver shouted at his passenger, “What are you doing, great hero!?”
Mithius faced the driver with a humble expression, “I cannot in good faith keep Her Majesty waiting. I shall walk the length of the road towards my destination.”
“But, it’d take hours to get there on your own feet!”
“Worry not. I have traversed on much longer and harsher roads than this on my quest to defeat the Demon Lord. It is a blessing to be able to walk through this calm city filled with the happy faces of its people.”
How valiant- She was in the midst of thinking so, when suddenly a hoard of women swooned and groups of men deafeningly cheered.
