“Okay, then what city did you come from?”, Mira asked. “I came from a city that’s not too far from here. I needed some time away from that place and this town seemed the best for a change of pace.”, Xenon said. A sad expression appeared on his face but quickly disappeared. “What about you? Is this your hometown or did you move here?”, he asked curiously.

“Yes, this is my hometown. My family has lived here since before I was born.”, Mira said. “Must be nice living in a town like this...I was born and raised in the city so I wouldn't know.”, Xenon said. A moment of silence occurred between them.

“So what do you think about the town and school so far?”, Mira suddenly asked. Xenon flinched at the sudden break of silence. “Oh, um. I guess it’s nice. The town is much more peaceful than the city so that’s good. And the school seems interesting too. So it’s been a pleasant experience so far.”, Xenon said. His mouth formed a small smile as he spoke.

“Well, that’s good to hear.”, Mira said as she checked the watch on her right wrist, “Break time is nearly over, we should start preparing for the next class. I’ll be busy during lunchtime so we can meet here tomorrow if you want.” Before Xenon could reply, Mira had already picked up her bag and headed towards the classroom. Xenon stayed at the bench and waited for a few minutes before he got up and did the same.
