Kasey woke back up after her nightmare in the morning at 5:30 with a horrid headache. Dragging her fingers through her hair she sighed and said, " Another day, another mistake." She groaned as she drug herself out of bed to get ready for the day.
" Hey honey," he aunt Lee said watching Kasey droop down the stairs. " Today is your friends birthday is it not?" she asked with a big smile on her face.
" yeah it is, but I didn't get her anything for it." Kasey says with a pained look on her face. "Good god why wont this headache go away?" she thought to herself. "Hun here is some Advil, I can see your head is bugging you again."
"Thanks" as she says this she grabs her monster and lunch and leaves the house and heads to the bus. As soon as she got on the bus her headache immediately got worse. The screaming and complaining of everyone was so loud. It made her ears ring. She wanted to scream. She covered her ears to try and block it out. " Kasey. She smiled, "Kasey are you alright?" her friend Alix tried talking to her.
Instead of her casual "Hi" it turned out to be her just turning around and snarling at her friend, yelling, "What the hell do you want?!" gasping a little she looked shocked that she even yelled at Alex she gasped and looked away. "I-I'm sorry" she whispered. " It's okay" Alex said glancing over at her.
" Something is wrong, what is it?" she asked Kasey. " Nothing, it's not important, whats up?" she asked. Alex laughed, " Are you excited for my birthday?"
" oh heck yeah dude!" She smiled cause she was planning a big surprise for Alex the whole day before that. "Are you sure you are ready for this? Are you sure you will not mess it up again like you did with your father?" That same voice that taunted her earlier in her dreams was back and pestering her brain again when she needed it least of all right now, " You will never get rid of me see, I am those burning thoughts you will never get rid of, the ones that will always be with you even if you think you did I am still here." Everything else just dazed off the rest of the school day, lunch, English class, everything, just felt like nothing.
