Before you,
Before me,
Before time itself,
There was land.
And on that land,
There were creatures.
They were cold,
Hungry,
Unloved,
Unloveable.
But one day,
One of the creatures gazed upon a goddess.
And fell in love.
They soon met,
And the goddess too fell in love.
The creature was pure,
Kind.
She loved her creature more than anything.
So she promised one wish for her creature.
The creature thought long and hard.
It wanted to help it’s people,
But didn’t know what to which for.
It visited the smartest in the land.
The bravest.
The eldest.
The neediest.
And came up with an answer.
The next day,
The creature a came back to the goddess.
It wished for an animal to satisfy their hunger.
To build a new world.
To be used as puppets for the creatures.
The goddess was appalled.
This was not the kind hearted soul she loved.
This was a monster.
But, she had promised it.
She granted its wish,
But made all of the creatures monsters.
And the new life hope.
She sprouted plants from now rich soil.
More animals from the tips of her fingers.
The creatures didn’t understand.
They got one wish and became monsters,
While their food got love and gifts.
They were blind with hatred.
So they fought.
The Council of Gods forced the creatures into hiding,
And gave them a new name.
Vampires.
And that brings us to where we are now.
