...I couldn't tell where I was. It was pitch black. When I woke up, I thought I went blind for a second, before remembering what happened. I shuffled my fingers around until I felt the circular grip of my flashlight. I turned it back on and tried looking around.
Looking up was just darkness no matter what, but I looked to the sides and I noticed the walls were closer than how they were up on top
I then realized that I'm actually still alive
"Wait, that fall should've killed me..unless.."
I got up slowly, feeling the light aches from the fall and letting my body adjust itself real quick. I then looked at where I was moments ago and saw three large black bags. They seemed like garbage as they were soft.
"Looks like I got lucky. But how the hell am I suppose to get out of here?"
I panned my flashlight all around me, and eventually I saw a dark opening within one of the walls. It was the only one around me, so I had no choice but to go there.
I noticed that I was stepping on a metal platform. When I was up top, the ground was rocky and rugged, but down here there was metal, and every step I took would make a clank, clank, clank sound. It made me feel vulnerable, as I was defenseless and by myself in this dark ruin.
My anxiety started to pick up, and I could hear the negative thoughts circulate my brain.
Now how are you gonna get out of here Anne? Looks like we're trapped, and it's thanks to your stubbornness.
I tried to shake the thoughts away but another thought came up
We're stuck! There's nowhere to go! No ladder, no stairs, nothing to get ourselves back up! We're fu-
I shook my head harder and grunted
"Leave me alone, inner demons! I'm gonna find a way out, one way or another!"
I continued down towards the doorway and it led me straight into another hallway like the one up above. This one was another tighter one and the panic started coming in again. This time I managed to take a quick breather before continuing onwards.
I noticed on both sides that I saw the same unknown writing like the ones up above… except these ones seemed brighter and more reflective to the flashlight, as if they were made out of glass. I tapped on one, but all I felt was rock. Why would they be reflective like that? It didn't make sense. They aren't made out of glass or some kind of reflective surface. So why are they reflective?
As I was observing one side, my peripheral vision caught the sudden color of red. I looked over and saw three of the symbols glowing with a red outline. Soon enough I saw more and more flash up and glow through the darkness. The other wall started going though the same effect and soon enough the hallway was fully lit.
The first thing I noticed was that the hall was long. It was a very long stretch with no turns, but thanks to the symbols I can see that the end of the hall led to another room.
"Hm, what a long stretch. It'll take a while to walk through it."
Before I could move again, the lights started blinking very slowly. Blink...blink...blink. It first took five seconds between each blink, but then the blinking started to increase more. Blink blink blink. The blinking was signifying something. I didn't press anything or felt myself step in a button again, so what's happening?
Faintly, I heard something from the other side of the stretch. I couldn't identify the sound until it became louder and louder, to which the sound was clear.
Footsteps, and they were coming fast.
I started to panic, looking back and forth seeing where I could go. The only way I can go is back to where I was, but there was no other place I could go there. The blinking rapidly increased itself, blinking to the point where it would look like a rave. Eventually the blinking was so fast that I could see the end of the hallway clearly again, and I saw something.
Something not human.
It was tall, pale in skin color, and very lanky. I couldn't get a vivid look because it was all the way down the other end, but I could already see it was a giant, with big hands.
The creature hesitated at the end of the hallways, and then turned towards my direction, and all I saw on its face was the same glowing light as the symbols, and when it looked at me, I saw another flash on the wall. It was a single word that sent me into an adrenaline state.
Run.
I didn't hesitate after that information. I bolted down the hall back to where I was. Thankfully I was a while away from the creature, I had time to look for something to either defend myself or hide.
But trying to defend myself from that giant would probably be suicide, so I needed to find a place to hide.
I could hear the same clanking footsteps echoing down the hallway. It didn't seem like the creature was running at full speed, but it was still fast enough to where I needed to find a room to hide in quickly.
Welp, this it it. Looks like you're about to die, are you happy with yourself? I heard my thoughts chime in. I couldn't brush it away before another reply came in
I don't want to die, there's so much I want to do in my life!
I was shaking, and hyperventilating, desperately looking for somewhere to go, and my thoughts constantly overlapping each other nearly broke me down right there, if I didn't hear another voice.
"Hey! Lady, come here, quickly!"
I turned around and saw a man, who didn't look any older than me. He had the same fearful face on him like me, and he was desperately pointing at a hidden door that was open. I didn't care who he was, I just needed to get out of the room before I was gone.
I ran quickly and the guy led me into a darkened small room, and as he shut the door, I heard the creature stumble into the main room, screeching as it tried desperately to find me.
Both me and the guy took heavy breathers as we took in what had just happened. Once I slowed down my breathing, I heard my thoughts once more.
That was close. You're lucky that guy was there to save you. Maybe next time, he won't be there to save you!
I shook my head once again, clearing my mind.
I was safe, for now it seemed.
